However, at the moment, this feature is only available on the Xiaomi Pad 6S Pro 12.4 tablet running HyperOS 2.
Xiaomi recently introduced a groundbreaking technology called WinPlay engine, a system-level feature that provides seamless compatibility between Xiaomi's HyperOS and Windows games. Specifically designed for the Xiaomi Pad 6S Pro 12.4, this technology allows users to play Windows games directly on the tablet without the need for an internet connection.

According to Zhang Guoquan, the Director of Xiaomi's Mobile System Software Department, the WinPlay engine is built on Xiaomi's HyperCore platform technology, which creates a virtualization environment on the tablet to efficiently support Windows games while ensuring high performance and stability. Users can easily access games from popular platforms like Steam and GOG, download them directly to the device, and enjoy a powerful gaming experience.
WinPlay supports a variety of peripherals such as game controllers, keyboards, and mice, providing a gaming experience similar to that of a PC. It also supports up to 4-player multiplayer gaming. Xiaomi has optimized WinPlay for Xbox controllers, offering vibration feedback similar to the original console experience. A demonstration video showcased WinPlay running Windows games on the Xiaomi Pad 6S Pro.
According to Xiaomi's internal testing, the GPU performance when using WinPlay only drops by 2.9%, ensuring a near-original gaming experience. The system consumes an average of just 8.3W of power, making it both efficient and reliable. Xiaomi has implemented a three-layer virtualization system to handle APIs, rendering, and command execution, delivering a seamless user experience with minimal resource consumption.
The intelligent resource allocation system helps reduce system load, ensuring smooth performance from game loading to rendering, providing a continuous experience throughout the gaming session.
Although WinPlay enables Windows gaming on the Xiaomi Pad 6S Pro, it is currently limited to this device and does not support running regular Windows applications. Xiaomi plans to refine and expand this feature based on user feedback. The company has not announced a specific timeline for the stable version but has committed to launching a complete product in the near future.
Xiaomi has launched a beta testing program for users of the Pad 6S Pro 12.4, running on the HyperOS 2 Beta version. Interested users can sign up via the Xiaomi Community app and must update their device to the latest firmware. After transferring game files from a PC to a designated folder on the tablet, users only need to connect peripherals to start their gaming experience.
