Solo Leveling is dominating the anime world, with its second season airing this winter. Now, the franchise has announced the production of a new live-action project.
The production company Kakao Entertainment has officially confirmed that Solo Leveling will be adapted into a live-action version.
Although the statement didn't reveal any production details, the company confirmed they are currently in the "planning and development" phase for the new live-action action film of Solo Leveling, with the script currently being written.

Previously, D&C WEBTOON's creative director, Heaeun Kwak, had mentioned that a live-action project for the series was in the works, but this is the first official confirmation.
While there are still no specific details regarding when fans can expect to see Solo Leveling's live-action adaptation on screen, the project is expected to generate "significant attention" from the broader Korean entertainment industry. It remains unclear whether it will be a theatrical film or a television series.
As for the author, Chugong published the original novel via KakaoPage from July 2016 to March 2018, with a total of 14 volumes. The webtoon adaptation, illustrated by Jang Sung-rak, was published on KakaoPage from March 2018 until December 2021. The anime adaptation, produced by A-1 Pictures, premiered its first season in Winter 2024 (from January to March), followed by the second season titled 'Arise from the Shadow,' which is currently airing.
