1. Will You Return?
Will you return to Hai Hau at the end of March?
The rice sparkles by the ferry on the river
The grapefruit whispers of old scents, as if to speak
The purple of the melaleuca flowers scattered along the small path
Will you return to greet the early dawn today?
The March sun has been awaited for days
The cold of spring makes the earth shy
The rice stands waiting with the fragrance of the countryside!
Come back, my love! Quench your thirst with the river's flow
The alluvial soil dyes the endless fields
The wind plays, making the rice bloom into grains
The frogs call, the rain nourishes the village!
Do you hear the kite birds calling on the dyke?
The worn-out shirt of someone lost in the rain and sun
The faded conical hat swaying to the folk tunes
The green sedge fields, the white herons flying!
Do you feel the waves of Ninh Co gently lapping?
The breeze carries the sweet fragrance of grapefruit
The rice fields are lush, the alluvial soil refreshing
The melaleuca path, still waiting for you!

2. Hai Hau, Our Homeland
My homeland is wonderfully beautiful, full of love
Even in April, the cold still lingers in the mist
A hint of rouge graces the cheeks, the lips blush
The bright Mộc Miên blooms with its rich red hue
I've traveled far and wide, thousands of miles
But no place captures my heart like the rolling clouds here
My homeland is humble, its values are abundant
The people are warm, lighting up the sky with joy
The breeze is sweet, like the fragrance of flowers
Spring has passed, and summer holds its own quiet dreams
The sun above gathers the essence of the land
The evening light is soft, with an indescribable charm
My homeland's beauty is not in hurry
But it is full of warmth and deep affection
Beautiful people, graceful in their nature
The sunset blooms, reflecting our friendship
Come home to Hai Hau, where peace fills your heart
Relax your mind, poetry in every tomorrow
Joy and kindness continue to grow stronger
Sweet love, oh, everything feels so perfect
Forever in my heart, the sky is priceless
Our homeland is prosperous, building a bright future
Beautiful, full of love, every corner shines
Endlessly beautiful, the sky, clouds, and water will remain forever

3. Who Has Been to Nam Dinh?
Who has visited Nam Dinh once?
They will surely remember the sacred Tran Temple
The joy of visiting the Viêng market
Forgetting all the worries, oh my!
Nam Dinh is truly a beautiful place
Forty ancient streets are where I return
The famous sticky rice cake, a gift from the homeland
Siu Châu’s sausage is unmatched here
The statue of General Tran Hung Dao, day and night
Watching the city change in astonishing ways
How can one forget the street corners and paths?
Vị Xuyên, where lovers reunite
Along this road, returning home
Ý Yên, land of traditional crafts
Famous for wood and bronze, near and far
La Xuyên, known for its craftsmanship, come and buy
Vụ Bản, bustling with energy
In March, the Phủ Dầy festival calls
The market fairs fill every village
Where young women gather to meet
Giao Cù’s noodle soup, loved across the land
Nam Điền’s flower and plant market, come visit
The famous Trạng Hiền, known everywhere
At the age of 12, invited to be a scholar
Trực Ninh, with sugarcane fields stretching wide
Through hardships, never discouraged
The countryside now modern and prosperous
The concrete roads beautify each village
Xuân Trường, the hometown of President Trường Chinh
Unity, peace, and harmony in the countryside
Our revolutionary homeland is preserved
Xuân Trường, waiting for you to come
Hai Hau invites you to visit
Eight-layered cakes and sweet snacks await guests
Thịnh Long, where the sea calls passionately
Enjoy a warm cup of liquor, feeling tipsy
Giao Thủy welcomes you every day
Xuân Thủy’s coastal areas are filled with birds
Quất Lâm, a popular destination for all
Enjoy savory rolled meat, a perfect rest
Mỹ Lộc is the place for entertainment
The Làng Đặng rowing festival invites you to join
Mỹ Tân, famous for its flowers
Bảo Lộc, where families pray for peace
Nghĩa Hưng, full of abundance
Rạng Đồng, where pine trees stretch to the horizon
The fields are full of white reeds
Your hands weave mats, thanks to the work of men
From the city to every village
Our homeland, Nam Dinh, continues to transform
I love this beautiful land
Where our love story is buried
This place is full of life and joy
And the rhythm of traditional songs fills the air.

4. Homeland
The straight path leads home.
In the distance, the embankment of the Đào River is visible.
The water reflects, shimmering gently.
The golden sunlight pours like honey, filling the air with the scent of flowers.
The red riverbanks are rich with alluvial soil.
The breeze passes by, as if this is a heavenly paradise.
Is it fate that brings me back here?
Admiring Nam Dinh, a land of my ancestors.
The people’s eyes shine with hope and light.
Their black hair humble, yet dazzling like pearls.
Their hardworking hands, tanned by the sun.
Their feet move gracefully, dancing on the bridge that rises to the sky.
The colors sparkle into the night.
The golden, green, and purple lights create a mysterious, ethereal glow.
Somewhere in the distance, a lullaby echoes.
Ah, how long has it been since I returned home?
How much I miss the old days in this rural land.
Today, everything is transformed, side by side with unity and resilience.
The immortal spirit shines through every heart.
The statue of General Tran Hung Dao watches over the homeland.
In all corners, the love and loyalty endure.
Nam Dinh, forever etched in my heart.

5. Returning to Nam Dinh
I long for the day when I return to Nam Dinh!
Watching the sails catch the wind, gliding over the river
Observing the dike stretching out into the vast sea
Admiring the ancient temple roofs, covered in moss.
I miss the bountiful rice harvests
The rice bending gently in the fields
The boat crossing the river, oars splashing in the water
Carrying the white hats across to the other side.
Listening to the soul-stirring chèo music echoing in the night
The rhythmic drumbeats fill the air, even in the late hours
The tender glances exchanged between lovers
Village couples finding their lifelong partners.
The pathways lined with hibiscus by the homes
Birds singing sweetly on the xoan tree branches
The smooth, brick-paved roads winding through the village
In late March, the red flowers of the bàng tree bloom brightly.
By the evening fire, the cold winter air dissipates
The dry straw gives off the scent of countryside smoke
The smell of freshly cooked rice fills every corner of the house
Chasing away the chill of the evening breeze.
I remember the silkworms being spun into their delicate cocoons
The golden threads drying in the sunlight by the yard
The hand-woven trousers my mother wore to the Tết market
The pink áo dài my sister wore at the spring festival.
And the peaceful, sleepless nights on the full moon
The moonlight spilling over the doorstep
The quiet stillness of the thatched roofs under the calm night
Wrapped in a blanket, I drift into sleep under the stars.
I long to return to Nam Dinh!
Where the memories of home warm my heart
I promise to return one day, to light the fire
And warm my cold, wandering hands!

6. Mother's Homeland
My heart is filled with longing for my mother's homeland
The sweet river Đào, rich with silt
Hải Hậu, my home – the land where salt runs deep
The beloved bridge of Ngói connects both shores
My heart aches as I think of my mother's land
The rice fields on the edge of the village, fragrant with the harvest
This is the land of ‘Quần Anh,’ a land of culture and heritage
‘Mỹ tục khả phong’ — traditions that endure since ancient times
The land of the sea!
Hải Hậu, a place of love, where people’s warmth runs deep
My father’s words echo, “plant the tree of virtue, my child”
The lullaby of my mother soothes my soul
The sea provides for us, filling the boat with fish and shrimp
The land of the sea!
Hải Hậu, a land where love and kindness are abundant
The red phoenix flowers bloom in the summer, and the cicadas sing
The bond between teacher and student, and friends sharing memories
Returning to my mother's homeland, where spring brings joy and celebration
My heart stirs with nostalgia...
How it fills me with longing!

7. Hải Hậu, Our Beloved Home
Years have passed, and yet home feels so distant
Rocking gently, the hands of my parents still reach out
The breeze carries a longing that intertwines with my memories
Oh, my homeland fades under the sun and mist
Oh, my homeland, forever bound with love’s embrace
So far away, yet the verses of my brother’s poetry echo
Before my eyes, the pure earth, the sky, and the clouds
The quiet nights are filled with emotions, ebbing and flowing
The figure of my father, toiling day and night
My gentle mother waits for me, her heart yearning
The water remains clear and endless, untouched by time
For thousands of years, my mother’s milk nourished me
Dear one, come home and visit
Hải Hậu, our homeland, where Nam Định connects with the love of father
The green land and the sea are bathed in kind sunlight
Through storms and trials, blossoms bloom brightly
The beauty of this land is a treasure for all to behold
Forever the lullaby... carrying a deep and lasting love.

8. Proud of Our Nam Định
Nam Định, our beloved, forever shining bright
"The gifted and talented" are found everywhere
"A blessed land where birds find refuge" and flowers bloom
The legacy of our ancestors keeps the flame alive
Nam Định, our pride, echoes with song
The Quan River boat connects our hearts
The Đào River winds, its path ever changing
At Vị Xuyên, the winds swirl as we admire the sails
Nam Định, our pride, at the break of dawn
The Flagpole stands tall, unwavering
The proud monument at the center stands firm
Folk beliefs are honored with incense burning
Nam Định, our pride, how beautiful you are
"Gentlemen and graceful women" walk hand in hand
Together, we brighten the spring skies
Glistening brightly, this land is a jewel
Nam Định, our pride, forever engraved in our hearts
"The nine-character islet" reminds us of every phrase
"Father's kindness, Mother's virtue" we vow to uphold
In gratitude, we honor the path of filial piety
Nam Định, our beloved, so full of love
A small, poetic land, our homeland
Even when distant, the memory lingers in our souls
The image of our roots remains forever in our hearts.
Poetry: Long Đặng

9. Will You Visit Nam Định to See Me?
This spring, will you come to visit?
The land of Thành Nam, with its thousand-year heritage
Where the storks glide gracefully at dusk
And the chầu văn echoes, filling your heart with emotion!
The songs by Đò Quan never fade
The figure of King Hưng Đạo stands tall and proud
The poetic Hồ Vị Xuyên stirs deep feelings
Your eyes sparkle, full of youthful joy!
If you come, we’ll walk together
Visit the majestic and ancient Trần Temple
And the Phủ Dầy festival, birthplace of Nguyễn Bính
These historic sites, dating back thousands of years!
Thành Nam, like a perfect full moon
A gathering place for the greatest minds of Vietnam
A city poor in riches, but rich in love
A land of heroic spirits and remarkable people!
This spring, I miss it so much
All the memories we’ve shared, we’ll preserve
If you come to Thành Nam, full of affection
Even when you’re gone, I’ll always remember!
Poetry: Liên Vũ

10. The Beauty of My Homeland
The beauty in the realm of illusion
Mesmerized by untouched nature
Shrouded in soft, white mist
The sky and sea gleam in perfect blue
As radiant as a grand feast
Adorned with sweet, vibrant colors
The white sand beach dances with waves
The sea sparkles, full of life
Gently kissing the shore
Each stone tells a dreamy tale
Such beauty, timeless and true
The pines whisper in the wind
Birds chirp beneath the morning fog
For eternity, it stands still on Earth
The riverbanks and coastal shores
Covered with abundant crops
The green fields, the vast lakes
Fish swim in schools, multiplying
Come back to relax in this homeland
Where mountains meet tranquil waters
Welcoming the sunrise with joy
And the sunset brings peace and bliss
Kites soar high in the winds
Flutes echo, carried by the breeze
The pine trees sway in harmony
This is the pure land of my mother
Listen to the soft whispers
Your heart racing with emotion
This beautiful, charming land
My beloved Hải Hậu
