1. Lam Thao Phosphate and Chemical JSC
Lam Thao Phosphate and Chemical Joint Stock Company (formerly known as Lam Thao Phosphate Plant), one of the pioneers in Vietnam's industrial sector, was founded on June 8, 1959 in the homeland of the Hung Kings (Lam Thao district, Phu Tho province). After three years of construction and equipment installation, with the strong support of Soviet experts and over 2,000 dedicated workers who worked tirelessly for 1,000 days and nights, the factory was inaugurated on June 24, 1962, and began production.
Over the past 61 years, Lam Thao Phosphate and Chemical Joint Stock Company has been a close partner of Vietnamese farmers in agricultural production. The company has provided over 20 million tons of high-quality, eco-friendly fertilizers to farmlands, contributing significantly to the growth of Vietnam's agricultural sector. Today, the company manufactures more than 100 types of fertilizer products, including various NPK-S formulas, superphosphate, and organic mineral fertilizers. Lam Thao fertilizers are trusted by farmers nationwide and are also chosen by international markets, especially Japan and South Korea – known for their high standards.
In the production process, the company carefully selects raw materials that meet quality and environmental standards. Through research and surveys, the company has developed products that meet the market's needs. In recent years, the company successfully developed new products, including easily soluble and slow-release phosphorus, especially phosphorus in NPK-S fertilizers to minimize nutrient loss and waste. The company has also collaborated with Hanoi University of Agriculture and the Institute of Soil Science to develop balanced fertilization formulas for key crops in different regions of Vietnam. Additionally, Lam Thao has continuously improved packaging, designs, and packaging standards to ensure greater appeal to farmers.
With the goal of delivering quality fertilizers to farmers, Supe Lam Thao has implemented numerous practical measures such as promoting products, transferring technical knowledge, and educating farmers on how to use Lam Thao fertilizers effectively. This also helps to protect farmers from fake, substandard, or counterfeit fertilizers. Through channels like the Farmers’ Association, Women’s Union, Agricultural Extension Centers, and Plant Protection Centers, the company also organizes many demonstration models of the NPK-S Lam Thao fertilizer application to promote sustainable agricultural development.
Currently, the company is licensed to operate in the following fields:
- Manufacture and trade fertilizers, chemicals, electricity, water, cement, fuel and lubricants.
- Design and build chemical production lines, equipment, and facilities.
- Hotel and restaurant businesses.
- Other businesses as permitted by law.
- The company's distribution network is widespread across all regions in the country, with agents in most provinces selling the company's products.
The growth of Lam Thao Phosphate and Chemical JSC is reflected not only in its production capacity and development projects but also in its established brand within Vietnam’s agricultural sector. The Lam Thao brand, symbolized by the “three green palm leaves,” is well-known nationwide, especially the “Lam Thao Fertilizer” name that has become ingrained in the memories of farmers across the country. The company was honored by President Ho Chi Minh during his visit in 1962 and has received numerous prestigious awards, including three Hero titles (Labor Hero in 1985, Armed Forces Hero in 1999, Labor Hero in the Renovation Era in 2000), the Ho Chi Minh Order (2005), Independence Order, Labor Order, Golden Medal “Farmer’s Friend,” Gold Medal “For the Development of Vietnam’s Agriculture,” and many other high distinctions.

4. Ho Chi Minh City Chemical Joint Stock Company
Founded under Decision No. 01/QD-UB dated January 4, 1982, by the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City, the company initially started as a subcontractor under the Ho Chi Minh City General Materials Company. To meet market demands and develop the industrial chemical sector, the company established the Thu Duc Light Calcium Carbonate Plant, primarily producing light calcium carbonate for use as a filler in toothpaste. On March 11, 1993, the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City issued Decision No. 82/QD-UB to establish the Chemical Production Factory under the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Industry, as a state-owned enterprise (formerly the Thu Duc Light Calcium Carbonate Plant), specializing in the production of light calcium carbonate with an increased capacity of 3,500 tons per year, serving industries such as paper, plastics, paints, rubber, and toothpaste. On June 18, 1999, the factory was transformed into Ho Chi Minh City Chemical Company under Decision No. 3498/QD-UB-KT by the People's Committee.
Given the significant demand for calcium carbonate, Ho Chi Minh City Chemical Company began researching and developing a proposal to produce calcium carbonate locally, using domestic resources to replace imported supplies. The proposal was approved by the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, allowing the company to proceed with the investment plan. On November 20, 2000, Decision No. 7787/QD-UB-DA authorized the company to relocate and modernize its calcium carbonate (heavy grade) production facility at 938 Nguyen Thi Dinh, Cat Lai Industrial Park, District 2, Ho Chi Minh City.
In early 2003, the calcium carbonate (heavy grade) factory began full operations with a capacity of 25,000 tons per year, producing both uncoated and stearic acid-coated calcium carbonate. It became one of the first local producers of this material, supplying industries such as plastics, paper, and paint. The plant incorporated a 90% automated process, and its products could fully replace imported calcium carbonate to meet domestic production needs.
On July 8, 2008, Ho Chi Minh City Chemical Company was officially converted into Ho Chi Minh City Chemical Joint Stock Company under Decision No. 4103010768. The company now operates with an enhanced production capacity of 45,000 tons per year, including 20,000 tons of stearic acid-coated calcium carbonate. In 2015, the company introduced a new production line for ultra-fine particles, with uniform particle size, expected to supply over 100,000 tons annually.
With a focus on consistent quality and fast response to customer needs, Ho Chi Minh City Chemical Joint Stock Company has established a strong reputation in the market, earning recognition from both customers and peers. The company boasts a dynamic and passionate workforce that is fully equipped to meet all customer requirements.
