1. Bai Con Island
Con Dao tourism is unforgettable thanks to the many small islands surrounding it. Bai Con Island is the second largest among the 16 islands in the Con Dao Archipelago. The entire island is covered in pristine tropical rainforest. Aside from sightseeing, you can also sign up for a thrilling coral diving tour.

2. Cau Island
Along with Bai Con Island, Cau Island is another popular eco-tourism destination off the coast of Con Dao. Visitors can enjoy activities like coral diving, exploring mangrove forests, and during the right season, witness turtles laying eggs and even participate in releasing baby turtles back into the ocean.

3. Dam Trau Beach
Located near the Co Ong Airport, Dam Trau Beach boasts fine, soft white sand, with mountains surrounding the sea in a crescent shape. It is considered the most beautiful beach in Con Dao.

4. Tau Be Cape
Tau Be Cape lies along the road from the airport to the town. The cape is surrounded by steep rock formations that curve to embrace the sea. It is an ideal spot for capturing stunning photos and is considered the best place to watch the sunrise in Con Dao.

5. Lo Voi Beach
Located along Ton Duc Thang Road, Lo Voi Beach is perfect for families or large groups. Its convenient location in the town center, calm seas, and clear waters make it a favorite. The beach features a long stretch of white sand, and the shoreline is lined with ancient casuarina trees, providing a perfect setting for picnics.

6. Ong Dung Pristine Forest
In Con Dao, you can experience a 20-minute trekking journey through the Ong Dung Pristine Forest. The cool, untouched tropical trees lead to a beautiful beach at the end of the forest. Just outside the forest is Ong Dung Beach, with its wild scenery perfect for picnics, relaxation, and group activities. You can also rent a speedboat to explore nearby spots like Big Bamboo Island and Small Bamboo Island.


7. Big Bamboo Island and Small Bamboo Island
Big Bamboo Island is another popular destination in Con Dao tourism. It features a smooth, white sandy beach, a favorite spot for sea turtles to lay their eggs. Small Bamboo Island, located 2 km from Ong Dung Beach, has a vegetation primarily made up of bamboo. This place also serves as a seabird sanctuary. From May to September, thousands of migratory birds return to nest here. Visitors can take a speedboat to the island to see coral reefs, observe seabirds, and enjoy recreational fishing.

8. Dam Tre Bay
Dam Tre Bay offers a sheltered landscape, surrounded by mangrove forests. Here, visitors can go snorkeling to explore coral reefs, watch swallows nesting during the breeding season, and enjoy stunning views of Con Son Bay, Lo Voi Cape, Dat Doc Beach, Chim Chim Cape, and the Northeast Bay on the way.

9. Con Dao Museum
With 2,000 documents and artifacts, the Con Dao Museum offers visitors a deeper understanding of the nature and people of Con Dao. The museum showcases images and items related to the horrific crimes of French colonialists and American imperialists. Additionally, the museum has an outdoor exhibition area, where you can view archaeological collections from Con Dao.


10. 914 Pier
The 914 Pier was constructed in 1873. Originally, it was 107 meters long, extending from the road in front of the governor’s residence into Con Son Bay. After numerous repairs, the pier now spans over 300 meters and is nearly 5 meters wide. Countless prisoners were forced to perform grueling labor to build the pier, carrying rocks to line the coastal road. Tragically, 914 prisoners perished here due to exhaustion, being crushed by rocks, and brutal torture. The name '914 Pier' serves as a memorial for the fallen and a reminder of the colonial atrocities and the cruelty of the island's rulers. Visitors to Con Dao can light incense, tour the pier, and even fish here.


11. Con Dao Prison
Built by the French in 1862, Con Dao Prison was initially used to imprison political prisoners, patriots, and those who opposed colonial rule. During the war, the prison continued to be used by the South Vietnamese government to detain revolutionary soldiers. The prison consists of 127 cells, 42 solitary confinement chambers, and 504 separate cells (also known as tiger cages). Many national heroes, including Huỳnh Thúc Kháng, Phan Chu Trinh, and revolutionary leaders like Tôn Đức Thắng, Lê Duẩn, and Lê Đức Thọ, were imprisoned here.


12. Salt Works Historical Site
The Salt Works was established by French colonists to exile prisoners and provide them with food during the early 20th century. Here, you can explore the brutal history of the prison and learn about the harrowing experiences of those subjected to French torture.


13. Phi Yen Temple (An Son Temple)
Situated around 2 km from the town center of Con Dao on Hoang Phi Yen Street, this temple is dedicated to the second wife of Lord Nguyen Anh – Mrs. Phi Yen. She was revered for her virtue, loyalty, and dedication to her husband. As a role model for Vietnamese women, she is honored by the people with this temple built in her memory.


14. Mount Nui Pagoda
Mount Nui Pagoda features distinctive East Asian Buddhist architecture and offers a breathtaking location with a scenic backdrop of the mountain and a water-facing view. This is a must-visit site in Con Dao. From the temple, visitors can enjoy a panoramic view of Con Son Bay and the An Hai lotus pond.
