According to Vietnam Airlines' policy, passengers who have purchased tickets in Flexible Economy, Standard Economy, Special Economy, or Saver Economy classes are eligible to upgrade their service by using one of the following methods.
Method 1:
You can easily access the Vietnam Airlines website or mobile app and follow the simple steps to upgrade your service based on the airline's guidelines.
Once you're on the website or mobile app, select the 'Manage Booking' section. Then, fill in your details such as your name, booking code, and email address. Afterward, click on the 'Upgrade Service' option to proceed with your upgrade.

When purchasing a Flexible Economy or Standard Economy ticket on flights operated by Vietnam Airlines, you will receive a complimentary upgrade and enjoy attractive services, including access to the Lotus Lounge, priority check-in and boarding, Business Class baggage allowance and in-flight service, as well as earning miles for Lotusmiles members at the Business Class flexible level.
Details of the program are as follows:
- Ticket purchase period: From now until December 31, 2022.
- Travel period: From July 1, 2022, to March 31, 2023 (excluding peak travel periods on certain routes).
- Applicable flight routes:
+ Between Ho Chi Minh City and Buon Ma Thuot/ Pleiku/ Tuy Hoa/ Thanh Hoa/ Chu Lai/ Dong Hoi/ Van Don/ Vinh.
+ Between Hanoi and Buon Ma Thuot/ Pleiku.
+ Between Hai Phong and Cam Ranh/ Da Nang.
+ Between Da Nang and Buon Ma Thuot/ Cam Ranh/ Da Lat/ Phu Quoc/ Can Tho.
+ Between Cam Ranh and Vinh.
+ Between Buon Ma Thuot and Thanh Hoa.
+ Between Da Lat and Vinh/ Hue.
Note about the Business Class upgrade programFree Business Class with Vietnam Airlines:
- The upgrade process depends on the seat availability on the flight.
- Please ensure that you complete the upgrade at least 3 days prior to your departure date.
Important Notes for Upgrading to Business Class Service with Vietnam Airlines:
- Vietnam Airlines applies Business Class upgrade rules to the following ticket types: Special Economy, Flexible Economy, Standard Economy, and Saver Economy.
- Passengers purchasing service upgrades within 24 hours before flight time. For routes from Hanoi to Ho Chi Minh City/ Da Nang, Ho Chi Minh City to Da Nang/ Phu Quoc/ Cam Ranh, you can purchase the service upgrade immediately after ticket issuance.
- Vietnam Airlines applies service upgrades in the following cases:
+ Voluntary upgrade/changes to higher service class;
+ Upgrades for children under 2 years old;
+ Upgrades are not applicable to tickets that have already been checked in.
