Spanning approximately 32.8 square kilometers, Suvarnabhumi Airport features two runways, measuring 3,700 meters and 3,500 meters in length, constructed with asphalt concrete. Additionally, the airport boasts an aircraft parking area with 120 designated parking spots.
1. Airlines Operating to and from Suvarnabhumi Airport
Major airlines operating at Suvarnabhumi International Airport include Air China, Air France, ANA, Bangkok Airways, British Airways, Cathay Pacific, Delta Air Lines, Emirates, Etihad Airways, Japan Airlines, Lufthansa, Qantas, Qatar Airways, Singapore Airlines, and Thai Airways.
If you are traveling from Vietnam to Bangkok, you can depart from Noi Bai International Airport (Hanoi), Tan Son Nhat International Airport (Ho Chi Minh City), Da Nang International Airport, Cat Bi International Airport (Hai Phong), or Can Tho International Airport.
Several airlines currently operate direct flights from Vietnam to Bangkok, including Vietjet Air, Vietnam Airlines, Qatar Airways, Bangkok Airways, and Thai Airways. The total flight time for each leg ranges from just 1 hour 25 minutes to 2 hours 30 minutes, saving travelers significant time and effort.

2. Guide to Immigration Procedures at Suvarnabhumi Airport
The main hall at the airport
Step 1: Follow the signs to the control room and baggage claim area. Proceed according to the Arrivals signs to complete immigration procedures and collect your luggage.
Step 2: Present your passport and arrival card at the immigration counter of Suvarnabhumi Airport.
Step 3: Retrieve your luggage in the baggage claim area at conveyor belts no. 6-23 at Suvarnabhumi Airport.
You can verify your luggage conveyor belt number. Your luggage will be directed to the conveyor belt corresponding to your flight, as displayed on the flight information board. If you cannot locate your luggage, promptly contact your airline for assistance.
Step 4: Move your luggage through customs inspection.
If you have goods to declare, proceed to the 'Goods to Declare' area (red exit lane). If you have no items to declare, you may exit through the green lane.

3. Important Notes About Luggage When Arriving at Suvarnabhumi Airport
Items brought into Thailand will be inspected and taxed based on their value and the regulations of the relevant authorities. Specifically:
- The Thai government prohibits passengers from bringing narcotics, pornographic materials, and wildlife into the country.
- Restrictions: The following items require approval from Thai authorities to be brought into the country:

4. Guide on How to Travel from Suvarnabhumi Airport to Bangkok

- By Airport Rail Link – the Airport Rail Link connects Suvarnabhumi Airport with the BTS Skytrain system, which is the primary public transportation network in Bangkok.
- By Taxi – traditional taxis are available to take you from Suvarnabhumi Airport to central Bangkok. Taxis depart from public taxi stands on the airport's ground floor (below the arrivals level).
Note that if you take a taxi from here, you will need to pay a service fee of approximately 50 baht.
- Limousine taxi services are also available at the airport, but their rates are significantly higher than traditional taxis. Limousine fares are calculated based on distance, and you can typically expect to pay 1,000 baht or more to reach central Bangkok.
- By Bus – Currently, there is no direct bus service from Suvarnabhumi to Bangkok. To reach central Bangkok by bus, you will need to take a bus from the airport's 2nd floor to the BMTA public transportation center, where you can transfer to other bus routes heading to central Bangkok.
5. Facilities at Suvarnabhumi Airport
Currency Exchange
Currency exchange counters and ATMs are located along the walls of the Departure Hall (4th floor) and throughout the Arrival Hall, operating 24/7 with reasonable exchange rates. You can also find a few counters on the 3rd floor. Banks are situated in the Departure Hall (West) and on the 3rd floor.
Luggage Storage
If you need a secure place to store your belongings, you can use Chubb's services. Prices typically start at around 100 baht for 24 hours and 50 baht for each additional hour. Chubb's luggage storage counters can be found in the International Departure Hall (behind Row P) and the Domestic Arrival Hall (Gate 4). The service is available 24/7.
Parking at Suvarnabhumi Airport
You can park your vehicle for short-term or long-term stays at Bangkok International Airport. Car parks 2 and 3 are designated for short-term parking, located indoors and opposite the main terminal. The 5th floor of both car parks connects to the terminal's 3rd floor at Gate 3 and Gate 8. Parking fees are relatively high, starting at 50 baht for 2 hours and reaching up to 250 baht after 7 hours. Adjacent to car parks 2 and 3 are outdoor parking lots 1 and 4, available for use when needed.
Communication and Postal Services at the Airport
Internet kiosks, web-based phones, and domestic and international calling services are available throughout the airport. International and local phone cards can be purchased at Family Mart stores. Telecom providers such as DTAC, AIS, and TRUE sell prepaid SIM cards at service counters located in the International Arrival Hall (Gates 5–7).
CAT Telecom
The CAT Telecom shop in the International Departure Hall (behind Row U) offers internet access and various business services. Internet rates are 100 baht for 20 minutes, 200 baht for 40 minutes, and 300 baht for 1 hour. Photocopying, faxing, and printing cost 10 baht per page. Domestic and international phone cards are available for 100, 300, 500, and 1,000 baht. The shop operates 24/7.
Passengers who have cleared customs can access the internet at counter 126, marked with the CAT logo. This service is free but limited to 15 minutes per connection.
WLAN Internet Hotspots
You can enjoy free Wi-Fi in the passenger terminal, but it is limited to 15 minutes. Usernames and passwords are available at any information desk (Information Desk) in the international departure and arrival halls. Outside the terminal, you must purchase a WLAN card (1 card = 250 baht = 1 hour of internet access) from Kingpower counters or any counter displaying the WLAN logo.
Postal Services
Located in the International Departure Hall, next to the CAT Telecom shop, the post office operates a small outlet offering EMS express delivery, packaging, stamps, and more. A Western Union booth is also available here. (Post office: open 24/7, Western Union: 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM, Monday to Friday).
Dining at Bangkok Airport
When you're ready to eat, head to the third floor, where a variety of options are sure to satisfy. Here, you'll find everything from hearty burgers and Thai restaurants to sushi bars, coffee shops, dim sum, and Italian pizza. Suvarnabhumi Airport boasts a large shopping area called King Power Duty Free, offering a wide range of tax-free products. The airport also houses duty-free stores from renowned brands such as Bvlgari, Cartier, Hugo Boss, and Swarovski.
Note: If you plan to buy local handicrafts at the airport, be prepared to pay at least double the price compared to buying them in the city. For imported goods, luxury items, high-end products, perfumes, or cosmetics, you’ll find the best prices here.

10 Useful Tips When Visiting Suvarnabhumi Airport
1. To catch a cheaper taxi, head to the car lane on the 4th floor outside and take any taxi that has just dropped off passengers. Negotiate a fare to central Bangkok for around 200–250 baht (excluding the 50 baht expressway fee).
2. On Level B, you can take the SRT train to central Bangkok. Opt for the City Line for a cheaper option, with the final stop at Phaya Thai. From there, you can take the BTS Skytrain directly to Siam Center for just 45 baht per person.
3. Avoid exchanging money here if possible.
4. If you’re worried about your suitcase getting scratched, use the luggage wrapping service (only 120 baht per suitcase).
5. Free Wi-Fi is available, but you need to register at the information counters to receive a pass for 30 minutes.
6. The waiting areas are equipped with computers and offer free internet access for 15-minute sessions per connection.
7. If you hold ASEAN nationality, opt for the lanes marked 'For ASEAN' during Immigration check-in or check-out to expedite the process.
8. Purchases and goods from the duty-free zone are eligible for VAT refunds (subject to conditions), with the refund counter conveniently located within the airport.
9. The airport features three rest zones where passengers can relax or even take a nap.
