On the morning of October 6th, the event 'Cultural Festival for Peace' was held to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the Liberation of Hanoi at the Hoan Kiem Lake Pedestrian Street.

The 'Cultural Festival for Peace' event was directed by the Hanoi Party Committee, Hanoi People's Council, and Hanoi People's Committee, organized by the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports, taking place at the statue of King Ly Thai To and additional stages at the Ba Kieu Temple Flower Garden, Dong Kinh-Nghia Thuc Square, and other locations.

During the event, a reenactment of the historic moment when the troops entered Hanoi on October 10th, 1954, to liberate the capital was vividly recreated.


The live reenactment of the historic 'Victory Return Day' brought forth grand and sacred emotions, reminding everyone of the heroic moment in history when Hanoi was officially liberated on October 10, 1954.

The event featured 9,000 participants in parades and performances. In addition, around 700 invited domestic and international guests attended.

The program also marked the 25th anniversary of Hanoi being honored with the title 'City for Peace' by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).

Numerous traditional ceremonies and art forms from over 30 districts and towns were meticulously reenacted during the event.

The program also recreated the image of students from the Temple of Literature - the first university in Vietnam.
