The Sam Chiêm grassland is situated in Hiệp Lực Commune, Ngân Sơn District, Bắc Kạn Province, approximately 30 km from the center of Bắc Kạn city. It is also known as Đồi Tình. This place attracts visitors with its wide grassy fields and rolling green hills. The journey to the grassland passes through numerous hills, following a distinct path among the green meadows. This spot is especially popular with hiking groups and travel enthusiasts looking for a relaxing weekend to reconnect with nature.
How to get to the grassland
Starting from the center of Hanoi, travelers should take the Hanoi – Thái Nguyên expressway. Upon reaching the Thái Nguyên – Chợ Mới expressway, continue straight onto National Highway 3, then onto National Highway 279. At the Lãng Ngâm intersection, turn right. Travel approximately 8 km further to reach the Sam Chiêm grassland in Bắc Kạn.
Overall, the journey from Hanoi to this grassland spans approximately 200km, taking around 4 hours. If you're traveling from the center of Bắc Kạn city, it only takes about 1 hour.
Additionally, if visitors choose to travel by regular car or motorbike, they can stop at the foot of the hill. To reach the top, it's recommended to use an SUV or a 4-wheel-drive pickup. Alternatively, travelers can opt for a bus or limousine service from Hanoi to Bắc Kạn or Cao Bằng.
