Vietnam to South Korea Flights: Hanoi - Incheon Route

Entry Requirements for South Korea
1. Entry Restrictions
Starting April 1, 2022, the visa exemption policy has been temporarily suspended for citizens of Brunei Darussalam, Grenada, Hong Kong, Japan, Kiribati, Kuwait, Macau, Micronesia, New Zealand, Panama, Peru, Samoa, Saudi Arabia, Solomon Islands, Taiwan, and Tonga. This suspension does not apply to:
- All flight crew members
- Passengers holding a valid APEC Business Travel Card. They must present a physical copy of the card, clearly showing the passport number as listed on their passport, and ensure that 'KOR' is indicated on the back of the card.
- Individuals holding diplomatic or official passports.
- Transit passengers who do not enter South Korea.
Foreign nationals registered to depart South Korea from April 1, 2022, are not required to obtain a re-entry permit if they return within one year (or two years for permanent residents) from their departure date.
Before departing for South Korea, all passengers are required to present a negative COVID-19 PCR test result.
2. Pre-Departure Requirements
- All travelers entering South Korea must submit a negative COVID-19 PCR test result prior to departure.
2.1. Requirements
- Testing Methods:
DNA-based PCR tests (RT-PCR, LAMP, TMA, SDA, NEAR, etc.) are valid; Rapid antigen/antibody detection tests (RAT, ELISA, etc.) are NOT valid.
- Testing and issuance of a negative PCR certificate must be completed within 48 hours (2 days) prior to the departure date.
- Mandatory details to include: Full name, date of birth, testing method, test date, test result, issuance date, and the name of the testing center must be clearly stated in the test result document. (Note: The name on the test result must match the name on the passport. Passport number or national ID number is acceptable in place of the date of birth.)
- The test result must indicate NEGATIVE.
- The test result document must be written in Korean or English, or accompanied by a certified translation of the result into Korean or English.
2.2. Exemptions from Testing Requirements
- Children under the age of 6 as of the entry date (only if all accompanying individuals have submitted valid negative test results).
- Individuals holding a quarantine exemption certificate.
- The testing exemption for foreign nationals with quarantine exemption certificates for the aforementioned purposes has been effective since November 18, 2021 (The exemption has already been applied to Korean citizens).
- Flight crew members.
- Individuals departing South Korea to another country but denied entry or unable to complete entry procedures before returning to South Korea.
- Korean seafarers departing from Singapore.
- Korean nationals who have recovered from COVID-19 (based on nucleic acid amplification tests, such as RT-PCR, NAATs, etc.) within 10 to 40 days prior to departure (Travelers must provide valid recovery documentation).
3. Pre-Flight Requirements
- Passengers arriving from countries eligible for visa-free travel to South Korea must register for the Korean Electronic Travel Authorization (K-ETA) at least 24 hours before departure (refer here for details).
4. Quarantine and Health Declaration Regulations
- Fully vaccinated individuals in South Korea (Those vaccinated in South Korea are exempt from quarantine upon entry).
- Fully vaccinated individuals abroad (Those without vaccination records registered in South Korea): May be exempt from quarantine provided they submit a health declaration and travel history in advance.
- Installation of the “Self-Quarantine Safety Protection” mobile app is required for passengers exempt from quarantine.

1. Entry Restrictions
- Japanese nationals are not subject to entry or exit restrictions.
- All Japanese citizens and permanent residents are permitted to enter Japan. Passengers re-entering Japan under a residence status (applicable only to those without visa restrictions) are also allowed entry, unless they have visited certain restricted countries.
- From March 1, 2022, foreign nationals entering Japan for short-term stays (less than three months) or long-term stays for business or employment purposes, and those with a sponsoring organization based in Japan, are permitted entry, provided the sponsoring organization completes the required application in the Entrants, Re-entrants Follow-up System (ERFS).
2. Pre-Departure Preparation
2.1. Submission of Test Certificates
- All passengers entering Japan must provide a negative test certificate issued within 72 hours from the time of sample collection to the departure of their flight.
- Tests accepted by the Japanese government include LAMP, NEAR, Next Generation Sequence, quantitative antigen tests (CLEIA/ECLEIA), RT-PCR, Smart Amp, TMA, or TRC. The certificate must meet the following conditions:
1) The test must specify that it is based on nasopharyngeal swab, saliva, or nasopharyngeal and oropharyngeal swab samples;
