Preparations passengers need to make before bringing pets on board
1. Regulations for pets transported as checked baggage in the cargo hold (AVIH)
- Bamboo Airways accepts the transportation of dogs, cats, and birds.
- Each passenger is allowed to bring a maximum of 3 pets on board.
- The combined weight of the pet and its carrier must not exceed 32kg. If it does, the pet must be transported as cargo.
- The total dimensions of the carrier must not exceed 203cm in any direction.
2. Bamboo Airways regulations for pets traveling in the cabin (PETC)
- The airline accepts the transportation of dogs and cats.
- Each passenger is allowed to bring a maximum of 2 pets in Economy Class, while Business Class passengers are limited to 1 pet.
- The combined weight of the pet and its carrier must not exceed 10kg. If it does, the pet must be transported using the AVIH service.
- The carrier must be placed on the aircraft floor in front of the passenger's seat, provided its dimensions do not exceed 35cm (length) x 30cm (width) x 20cm (height).
- Passengers must purchase an adjacent seat to place the carrier if any of its dimensions exceed the above limits.
- The maximum dimensions for the carrier are 50cm (length) x 40cm (width) x 95cm (height).
3. Passengers must comply with Bamboo Airways' regulations and conditions for transporting pets, including:
- When opting for pet transportation services, passengers must bring special equipment to neutralize odors and clean up pet waste if transporting in the cabin.
- Pets must remain inside their carriers throughout the flight, except when taken into a locked restroom for cleaning purposes. The passenger accompanying the pet is responsible for cleaning. The pet can only leave the restroom after being securely placed back in its carrier.
- If the total flight duration exceeds 12 hours, passengers must provide water for their pets. However, the water container should not be filled to the brim to prevent spills.
- For flights lasting more than 12 hours, passengers must prepare food for their pets. Pets should be fed at least 4 to 6 hours before departure.
- If you plan to bring a pet on board, you must contact and book the service in advance through Bamboo Airways' hotline or official ticket offices at least 24 hours before the flight's departure.
- You must also coordinate with quarantine authorities, embassies, or consulates of the countries involved in your itinerary to ensure all required pet documentation is prepared, such as import/export permits, health certificates, vaccination records (note: all documents must be valid and comply with the regulations of the relevant countries, including vaccination certificates and other related paperwork).
- Additionally, certain dog and cat breeds are highly sensitive to temperature, humidity, light, pressure, and noise, making them vulnerable during flights. For their safety, Bamboo Airways does not accept the transportation of the following breeds:
