Many passengers on flights wish to carry eggs, plants, or flowers as gifts. However, not every airline allows these items due to the high risk of damage or breakage. Let Mytour help you understand Bamboo Airways' policies on this matter.
Raw eggs

Can raw eggs be brought on board Bamboo Airways flights?
The transportation of raw eggs is restricted on Bamboo Airways flights. In cases where they are allowed as checked baggage, passengers will assume all risks associated with their transport (if any).
Packaging requirements:
• For large quantities:
- Eggs are typically stored in wooden or compressed fiber boxes with honeycomb-style trays for separation.
- The packaging material must be sturdy enough to allow stacking of the boxes on top of each other.
- Seal the box lid securely with adhesive tape, then place it inside a large plastic bag with a minimum thickness of 0.1 mm and wrap it tightly to prevent any leaks during transport.
• For small quantities:
- Wrap each egg individually in paper.
- Place the wrapped eggs in a plastic bag filled with rice husks, cotton, or other materials to reduce the risk of breakage during transport, then seal it tightly.
- It is recommended to carry these bags as hand luggage rather than checked baggage.
Plants and fresh flowers

Bamboo Airways accepts the transportation of fresh plants and flowers, but they must meet specific packaging standards.
• For domestic flights:
- Fresh plants and flowers are allowed for transport as checked luggage or carry-on baggage.
- The plant will only be accepted for transportation if it is carefully packaged to prevent the soil from spilling or the plant from being damaged.
- Fresh plants and flowers are allowed in the passenger cabin only if their size complies with the carry-on luggage standard. They must be placed in the carry-on luggage compartment or as directed by the flight attendant. If the passenger refuses to place the plant or flowers in the carry-on compartment, they will need to purchase an additional seat to accommodate the plant/flowers.
- For hand-held bouquets brought into the passenger cabin, the flowers must meet the carry-on luggage size requirements and be packaged to protect the stems, roots, and heads from damage and/or leakage. The bouquet must be placed in the carry-on luggage compartment on the aircraft.
• For international flights:
Transportation must comply with the regulations of the destination country at the departure, transfer, and arrival airports.
Eggs are fragile and prone to damage during transit. Similarly, fresh plants and flowers, when transported on international flights, are quite 'sensitive' as they may be potential sources of bacterial or viral infections. While Bamboo Airways can accept the transportation of these items, they must meet standards regarding quantity, size, and packaging.
