From Hanoi or Saigon, you can catch a flight with Vietnam Airlines to Chengdu, the capital of Sichuan. If you’re flying from Hanoi, the cheapest promotional fare to Chengdu with Vietnam Airlines is 316 USD for a one-way ticket, excluding additional fees. However, prices may increase closer to the date of booking. Alternatively, travelers in Hanoi can choose flights with China Southern Airlines, transiting through Guangzhou, which offers lower fares, starting at just 178 USD. Another option is to take a train or bus to Nanning, spend a few days there, and then fly to Chengdu.
From Saigon, Vietnam Airlines does not offer direct flights to Chengdu, and passengers must transit through Bangkok or Hong Kong. If you're looking to save more, you can opt for a flight with Cathay Pacific, which transits through Hong Kong, with round-trip fares priced at approximately 367 USD.
The Jiuzhaigou Scenic Area is located 560 km from Chengdu. If you have a larger budget and wish to save time, you can fly with airlines like Air China, Sichuan Airlines, Hainan Airlines, South China Airways, or China Eastern from Chengdu to the Jiuhuang Airport, which takes around 50 minutes to 1 hour, and then travel an additional 80 km to reach Jiuzhaigou.
