To ensure the safety and comfort of all passengers, Vietnam Airlines has implemented strict health confirmation protocols for certain passengers before their flight. Check out the detailed guidelines in the article below by Mytour.
Do you know which passengers are required to confirm their health status before flying with Vietnam Airlines?
The following cases require health confirmation before the flight:
- Using oxygen services onboard
- Using a stretcher during the flight
Passengers with diabetes and/or other health conditions must carry an insulin pump to use during the flight as prescribed by their doctor.
Pregnant women or passengers requiring special medical attention should ensure they have made appropriate arrangements.
Before the flight
Passengers are required to prepare health certification documents in accordance with the regulations of Vietnam Airlines. These documents include:
- MEDIF I Health Information Form (Part 1): Passengers must complete the form and sign it for confirmation.
- MEDIF II Health Information Form (Part 2) and Doctor's Guide: Passengers should take this form to a medical facility approved by Vietnam Airlines for a doctor's validation.
Health confirmation deadline
- All passengers requiring stretcher service and/or oxygen on board: 7 days prior to the departure date of each flight segment.
- Passengers needing medical equipment during the flight: 7 days prior to the departure date of each flight segment.
- Other cases: 14 days prior to the departure date of each flight segment.
Note:
Passengers who need health confirmation are not required to have a companion in the following situations:
- The patient has a non-severe condition, has adjusted well to their illness, and the healthcare facility has confirmed that their health is stable enough to allow air travel without the need for an accompanying companion.
- The individual is capable of walking independently, eating on their own, and taking care of their personal needs throughout the duration of the transportation process.
- At the airport
Passengers will be accepted for transport if they meet the following conditions:
- The passenger must have pre-registered for the special service and received confirmation from Vietnam Airlines.
- The passenger must possess all required documents in accordance with regulations, and the documents must be valid and legally recognized.
- The passenger's health condition, assessed at check-in at the airport, must be suitable for air travel.
- Transporting the passenger must not compromise the safety of the aircraft, crew, other passengers, or their belongings.
- During the flight
The flight attendants guide passengers and their companions to their assigned seats and assist with basic requests.
At the arrival airport
Ground staff help passengers disembark from the aircraft and complete the necessary procedures.
