On December 23, the Night Food Street, a pedestrian-friendly space located at Ngoc Nguyet Island, Truc Bach Ward, Ba Dinh District, was officially opened, providing a new venue for entertainment, shopping, and leisure for both locals and visitors to Hanoi.

The Ngoc Nguyet Island Pedestrian Night Food Street in Hanoi is strategically placed at the intersection of two central streets: Ngũ Xã and Nguyễn Khắc Hiếu, in Trúc Bạch Ward. The area spans seven streets: Ngũ Xã, Trần Tế Xương, Nguyễn Khắc Hiếu, Mạc Đĩnh Chi, Nam Tràng, Lạc Chính, and Trấn Vũ. Stretching over 120 meters, this area is set to become one of the most captivating and unique entertainment and tourist destinations in the city.
In preparation for the launch of the pedestrian night food street, extensive preparations had been underway for quite some time. This began with the planning of the street layout, road repairs, fence renovations, sidewalk adjustments, and the rearrangement of stalls, as well as the addition of public restrooms. Simultaneously, the Ba Dinh District authorities planted more greenery, set up additional lighting and decorative lights, and repainted fences, all aimed at creating a clean and beautiful green landscape for the Ngoc Nguyet Island Pedestrian Night Food Street.
Several sections of the street have been decorated with lanterns, creating a colorful and romantic atmosphere. This setup also serves as an attractive backdrop, drawing in photography enthusiasts looking for great shots.

The activities at the Ngoc Nguyet Island Pedestrian Night Food Street will focus on promoting existing businesses, with a combination of a marketplace and showcasing OCOP products, as well as displaying the traditional craft of Ngũ Xã copper casting at the Copper Casting Craft Museum.
Every weekend, the Ngũ Xã Island's Night Food Street, which doubles as a pedestrian zone, comes alive with a variety of vibrant cultural and artistic performances, blending traditional and modern elements.
Additionally, during the festive season and at the start of the Lunar New Year, the local area opens its doors to host traditional events at the historical and cultural sites of Thần Quang Pagoda and Ngũ Xã Communal House, offering an enriching experience for visitors and tourists.
The food street is open daily, but on weekends, from 6 PM Friday to midnight Sunday, both Ngũ Xã and Nguyễn Khắc Hiếu streets are closed to motor vehicles, creating a pedestrian-friendly space for guests to savor the local culinary delights.

The Hanoi City People's Committee chose Ngũ Xã Island to develop a pedestrian food street because the area has long been famous for its many shops offering traditional Hanoi dishes with flavors passed down through generations. This makes it the perfect foundation for attracting food lovers.
In addition, the location of this street appeals to many due to its proximity to West Lake. The picturesque and spacious atmosphere along the route makes it an ideal spot for people to spend weekends enjoying leisure time with family, friends, and loved ones.
