- If you're dining at street food stalls, pay close attention to food hygiene. Choose clean places and avoid eating unusual or undercooked dishes to prevent stomach issues. However, don’t be overly cautious and miss out on sampling Malaysian, Chinese, or Indian cuisine.

- It’s advisable to carry stomach-relief medication. Also, make sure to apply mosquito repellent when going outside in the evening, as the humid environment is ideal for mosquitoes, and there could be dengue fever outbreaks. - Credit cards and ATMs are widely accepted in Malaysia. You can use your credit card to pay at most shopping malls, restaurants, and hotels. However, keep in mind that some places, such as Hawker Centers, street food stalls, Chinatown, or markets, only accept cash.

- Tipping is not necessary, as a 10% service charge is usually included in the bill at restaurants and bars.

- When shopping in Chinatown, the central markets, or street markets, it’s recommended to negotiate prices, aiming for a 20-30% discount. However, prices at shopping malls or stores in the city center are typically fixed and non-negotiable.
