Introduction to Lảo Thẩn
Lảo Thẩn is located in Phìn Hồ village, Y Tý commune, Bát Xát district, Lào Cai province. Standing at 2,860 meters, it ranks 14th among the highest mountains in Vietnam. Lảo Thẩn is also known by other names such as “The Roof of Y Tý” or Nhìu Cồ San, Hâu Pông San.


How to get to Lảo Thẩn
From Hanoi to Lào Cai:
Train: You can take a train from Hanoi to Lào Cai station. There are several night trains and express trains departing from Hanoi.
Bus: Bus companies like Sapa Express and Inter Bus Lines offer services from Hanoi to Lào Cai.
From Lào Cai to Bát Xát:
Motorbike or car: From Lào Cai city, you can rent a motorbike or car to reach Y Tý commune in Bát Xát district – the starting point for your Lảo Thẩn trek. The distance is about 70-80 km, taking approximately 2-3 hours to travel.

In addition to being a paradise of white clouds, visitors can also check-in at a rocky outcrop perched on the edge of a cliff. This unique rock formation is often likened to a boat extending out from the mountain. From this point, visitors can gaze upon the Dền Sáng valley and Nhìu Cồ San mountain. Additionally, there is a chance to take stunning photos by an ancient tree near the A Hờ hut.
