Ly Son is the only island district of Quang Ngai Province, located to the northeast, about 15 nautical miles from the mainland. To reach Ly Son Island, visitors must book a flight to Chu Lai from Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh City. However, Chu Lai airport is quite far from the city center, so once you land, you’ll need to continue by land to Sa Ky port to catch a boat to Ly Son Island. Therefore, if you're planning a trip to this island, it’s essential to check flight prices to Chu Lai in advance.
Currently, Vietnam Airlines, VietJet Air, and Bamboo Airways all operate flights to Chu Lai.
According to the price search system on Mytour.vn, the best fare for the Hanoi – Chu Lai route in May 2022 is currently 209,000 VND per one-way trip, available through VietJet Air on multiple dates. VietJet Air’s flights depart at 3:30 PM and arrive at Chu Lai airport at 5:00 PM. This is an Eco class ticket that includes 7 kg of carry-on luggage. The ticket is changeable and refundable with a fee, but name changes are not allowed.
Additionally, you can also check out the attractive fare of 249,000 VND per one-way trip from Vietnam Airlines. This is an Economy E class ticket, which includes 10 kg of carry-on luggage and 23 kg of checked baggage. The ticket is refundable and changeable for a fee, upgrades are permitted, name changes are not allowed, and it earns 60% bonus miles.
The fare for the Hanoi – Chu Lai route in May is fairly affordable. The highest price is just 469,000 VND per one-way trip from VietJet Air or 909,000 VND per one-way trip from Vietnam Airlines. However, there are plenty of great deals available, making it easy for you to book a ticket.
When you check for flights from Ho Chi Minh City to Chu Lai, you’ll notice the prices are quite similar to the Hanoi route. However, there are some fantastic deals starting at 99,000 VND and 149,000 VND from Bamboo Airways. These are Economy Saver tickets, which include 7 kg of carry-on luggage and 20 kg of checked luggage. The tickets allow for name changes and changes for a fee, but they are non-refundable. You will earn 0.25 Bamboo Club points per ticket.
