The journey spans 8 hours, covering 290 km, and bypasses stops that local trains usually make. This train is called the 'slowest express train in the world', moving at a pace even slower than cars. Its leisurely speed gives travelers the opportunity to fully enjoy the scenery through its panoramic windows.

This special train focuses on offering a unique experience. The journey is designed for passengers to immerse themselves in the breathtaking landscapes. The magnificent Alps could be missed on a high-speed train. The Glacier Express travels over 291 bridges and through 91 tunnels, offering expansive windows for an unobstructed view of nature outside. The rugged Alpine terrain is also the reason for the train's slow pace.

The Journey of the Glacier Express
The Glacier Express departs from the Zermatt resort, descending into the Mattertal valley before reaching the Visp summit (658m). It continues to Brig (670m), home to the Aletsch Glacier, before climbing up to Andermatt, crossing the Oberalpass Pass, and arriving at the town of Dissentis. The train's final destination is St. Moritz, a luxury mountain resort renowned as one of the world's most exclusive destinations. St. Moritz is not only a skiing paradise with extensive slopes but also a haven for pristine lakes and breathtaking mountain vistas.

This scenic train has been transporting passengers to admire the Alps since the 1930s. It consists of six first- and second-class carriages, plus a dining car.
