Nestled within Nha Phu Lagoon, Hà Liên Village is a charming and unique oasis located in Ninh Hà Ward, Ninh Hòa Town, Khánh Hòa Province.
A Village Amidst Nha Phu Lagoon

Spanning approximately 2 hectares, Hà Liên Village lies about 6 km from the center of Ninh Hòa Town and roughly 30 km from Nha Trang, situated at the river mouth near the sea and Hòn Hèo Mountain. According to locals, the village was established over 370 years ago during the Nguyễn Dynasty. From above, the village resembles a striking oasis surrounded by aquaculture ponds in Nha Phu Lagoon. Its unique location creates a picturesque scene, attracting visitors from far and wide.

To reach this village, visitors must traverse a 1 km-long concrete road. Hà Liên Village is characterized by its closely packed houses with vibrant red-tiled roofs. Upon entering, guests are greeted by a large communal courtyard where villagers gather. Most homes in Hà Liên are single-story, built close together, with very few multi-story buildings. The village is home to 330 households and over 1,200 residents, who primarily earn their living through aquaculture and fishing in Nha Phu Lagoon.

Abundant Aquatic Life in the Lagoon
The land here is primarily composed of saline mudflats, acidic soil, and interspersed sandy deposits. This environment fosters the growth of mangrove forests, home to species like the sú and vẹt trees. It also serves as a thriving area for aquaculture, including shrimp, crabs, and brackish fish for export. Daily, locals venture out on boats to inspect crab ponds, harvest sandworms, or gather various seafood. The village's edge features a docking area for small boats, nestled close to rows of mangrove trees. These trees play a crucial role in protecting the shoreline from saltwater erosion and shielding the area from storms.

Spanning nearly 1,500 hectares, Nha Phu Lagoon connects Nha Trang Bay and Vân Phong Bay. It is one of the two largest lagoons in Khánh Hòa Province, boasting a unique ecological landscape. The diverse ecosystem includes mountains, forests, rivers, streams, and coastal islands. Renowned for its abundant seafood, the lagoon's shrimp and crabs are particularly prized for their distinct sweetness, making them a year-round favorite for seafood restaurants.
