With no electricity, no phone signals, and completely isolated from urban life, Hang Táu village unveils a uniquely peaceful and stunning natural landscape.
Hang Táu – A 'primitive' village attracting young travelers for unique experiences
Hang Táu, in the local dialect, means an open field or a basin. Located about 20km from the center of Mộc Châu town, the journey from Tà Số junction to Hang Táu offers both an adventurous ride and a chance to admire breathtaking natural scenery before entering this untouched village. The steep uphill and downhill slopes add to the thrill of the journey.

Recently, Hang Táu has become a hotspot for travelers, especially young adventurers seeking a '3-no' lifestyle: no phone signals, no electricity, and no internet. The village's natural beauty transforms with each season. In this valley, you can hear the sounds of livestock, birds chirping, and children playing, creating a serene and refreshing atmosphere that soothes the soul.

Traveling to Hang Táu
From Mộc Châu city, follow National Highway 6 for about 12km. On the right, you'll notice signs for the Tà Số community tourism village. Spotting the hanging sign, turn right and continue on the paved road. Along the way, you’ll encounter a massive rock inscribed with 'Tà Số welcomes you,' perfect for a quick photo stop. Proceed another 3km to reach Mèo Junction, identifiable by a small house on the left where H’Mong men in traditional attire guard parked vehicles, and a slope leading into the village on the right.

The village entrance can be challenging due to uneven dirt roads. Confident drivers can navigate smoothly, but those less experienced should consider parking their vehicles and relying on the skilled local drivers for a safer journey.
While the path to the village may feel unfamiliar, it reveals a serene landscape flanked by cornfields, cassava, potatoes, and sprawling mustard flower fields, all framed by rolling hills. Scattered among the crops are modest, weathered wooden homes. After winding along a narrow cement path less than a meter wide, you’ll arrive at this enchanting village.

Activities in Hang Táu
In this pristine valley, visitors can immerse themselves in tranquility and charm. Wander around for photos, play with friendly dogs and cats, or experience the simple lifestyle of the H’Mong people by participating in farming, animal husbandry, bamboo shoot harvesting, or learning traditional embroidery techniques.
If possible, try camping overnight in the village. Enjoy roasted sweet potatoes by the fire and listen to the soothing sounds of insects. For a taste of local cuisine, coordinate in advance with the village gatekeeper.

The village is home to nearly 20 households, all living in a pristine, untouched environment. Locals dress in their traditional attire and have relied on farming and livestock for generations, sustaining themselves through the land’s natural resources. As you wander through the village, you’ll encounter massive rock formations, towering green trees, and expansive grassy hills.
