Located in the small bay of Vinh Hy, Hon Rua Beach is distinguished by its unique shape, crystal-clear waters, and vibrant coral reefs.
Hon Rua Beach – the breathtaking turquoise beauty
Hon Rua Beach (also known as Hon Tai) is situated in Vinh Hai Commune, Ninh Hai District, Ninh Thuan Province. This site was officially recognized as a national scenic landmark by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in April 2022. From a distance, the island resembles a giant turtle gracefully gliding across the water. The deep blue waters, jagged rocks, and rich marine ecosystem make it a must-see destination when visiting Vinh Hy.
The best time to visit Hon Rua is from October to April. During this period, the sky is clear and the seas calm, perfect for outdoor activities. To reach Hon Rua Beach, visitors can choose to travel by boat, canoe, or through a tour. A canoe ride typically costs around 200,000 VND per trip. Glass-bottom boats are also an excellent choice to admire the colorful coral reefs beneath the sea surface.

Fun activities at Hon Rua
Visitors to the beach should have a supervisor to ensure safety and provide rescue assistance in case of emergencies. For those interested in diving, there are instructors available and diving equipment for rent. The beach is enclosed by rocky cliffs, creating a secluded area. In addition to the blue sea and white sand, there is a natural lagoon with emerald green water. The water here is clear and cool, making it perfect for relaxing and soaking.

Thanks to its exceptional clarity, visibility underwater can reach up to 4 meters. The waves are calm, and there are no strong currents offshore. With staff monitoring the area, it is very safe. Visitors can spend more time exploring the rocky cliffs, lounging in the crystal-clear lagoon, or enjoying meals. However, Hon Rua Beach does not allow overnight camping due to high tide waters, its distance from the shore, and safety concerns.
