To ensure flight safety and prevent the risk of spontaneous combustion of batteries, Vietnam Airlines has set specific regulations for accepting Lithium battery-powered suitcases. Only those that meet the following conditions will be allowed for transport on the airline’s flights.
- Lithium-powered suitcases/bags with removable battery designs (maximum battery capacity of 300 Wh)
+ Vietnam Airlines accepts these for transport in either carry-on or checked luggage on their flights.
+ When transporting in checked luggage on Vietnam Airlines flights, passengers must remove the battery from the device, and the battery must be carried as part of the carry-on luggage.
- Lithium-powered suitcases/bags with non-removable batteries from the device
+ Batteries containing more than 0.3g of lithium metal or with a capacity exceeding 2.7 Wh: These will not be accepted by Vietnam Airlines for transport.
+ The battery contains less than 0.3g of metallic lithium or has a power output under 2.7 Wh.
+ Accepted for transport by Vietnam Airlines, either in hand luggage or checked luggage.
+ If transported in checked luggage, the device must be completely powered off.
