The Design and Culinary Space of the French Restaurant La Maison 1888
La Maison 1888 is the masterpiece of the “architectural wizard” Bill Bensley. Designed as a vintage Indochine-style mansion nestled within a lush green forest, the restaurant invites guests to step into a world of French gastronomy.
This is also the first restaurant in Vietnam to collaborate with Michelin-starred chefs, including Michel Roux and Pierre Gagnaire. The menu showcases a perfect fusion of renowned French cuisine and local ingredients, meticulously crafted by talented chefs. The restaurant also offers vegetarian and pescatarian menus.
The restaurant’s space is divided into several areas, such as La Veranda with 24 seats, Buffalo Bar with 14 indoor and 30 outdoor seats. Notably, there is a dining area with a view overlooking the kitchen, allowing guests to witness the culinary process. Additionally, the restaurant features a private 4-seat room and two 12-seat rooms. The wine cellar at La Maison 1888 houses Vietnam’s only collection of rare and exquisite wines.

La Maison 1888 was recognized by CNN as one of the top 10 best restaurants in the world in 2016. Architectural Digest magazine ranked it among the top 10 most beautiful restaurants globally. The World Travel Awards also honored the restaurant with the title of the world’s leading luxury hotel restaurant in 2017.
Additionally, every dining experience at the restaurant is paired with a curated selection of wines by wine tasting expert and beverage manager – Jimmy Chang. The restaurant’s wine cellar has been awarded the Wine Spectator’s Excellence Award for seven consecutive years, boasting an impressive collection of rare wines.
