Spanning a vast area of limestone mountains and karst caves, Lang Son Geopark holds immense archaeological, cultural, biodiversity, and mineral significance.
Overview of Lang Son Geopark

Lang Son Geopark covers nearly 3,900 square kilometers, encompassing districts such as Bac Son, Binh Gia, Van Quan, Chi Lang, and Huu Lung. This area is home to diverse ethnic groups, rich tangible and intangible cultural heritage, and archaeological discoveries from the early Neolithic period, known as the Bac Son Culture. Bac Son District is also a historic revolutionary site with well-preserved landmarks.

The geopark features iconic landscapes like low limestone mountain ranges surrounding villages in Yen Thinh Commune (Huu Lung District) and prehistoric caves such as Tham Khuyen Cave (Binh Gia District). Culturally, it hosts numerous worship sites for the Mother Goddess belief system, notably Bac Le Temple, and showcases the simple beauty of Tay and Nung ethnic villages.

The harmonious blend of heritage colors within the diverse geological and geomorphic landscapes creates a 'flow of life in this sacred land.' These unique features are rare elsewhere, making it a lever for tourism development. Lang Son Geopark is structured into four tourism routes along National Highways 1A, 1B, 4B, and 279, featuring 38 destinations with 7 to 11 attractions per route.
