With this fare, passengers are allowed 7kg of carry-on luggage, with ticket conditions including fees for cancellations/changes and no name change option. The total price after taxes and fees for the entire journey is 2,947,000 VND.
Currently, VietJet Air operates the Ho Chi Minh City – Tokyo route with two flights daily at 17:20 and 23:50. The flights depart from Tan Son Nhat International Airport (Ho Chi Minh City) and land at Haneda Airport (Tokyo) after a flight time of approximately 5 hours and 40 minutes. The price of 890,000 VND per one-way trip is available on several dates throughout December. In addition to this fare, VietJet Air offers slightly higher prices on some dates, such as 1,090,000 VND, 1,290,000 VND, and 1,520,000 VND per one-way trip.
Although this may not be considered a super cheap price, when compared to the domestic airline Vietnam Airlines, which also operates this route, you’ll notice a significant difference. Vietnam Airlines’ starting price is already 4,401,000 VND per one-way trip, excluding taxes and fees. After including taxes and fees, the total cost for a one-way flight for one adult passenger from Ho Chi Minh City to Tokyo is 6,568,000 VND. That’s definitely not a cheap fare, is it?
Moreover, if you compare it to some international airlines that also operate this route, the ticket prices are even higher. Specifically, Japan Airlines and ANA All Nippon Airways both have starting prices of 15,893,000 VND per one-way trip.
