As of 15/03/2023, China has implemented temporary entry and exit policies with significant adjustments
Specifically, starting from 15/03/2023, China has introduced temporary entry and exit policies for both Chinese citizens and foreigners, with some notable adjustments as outlined below:
• Eligible individuals for entry
All passengers (whether fully vaccinated or not/partially vaccinated) are permitted to enter China as long as they have valid entry documents.
• Health insurance: No requirement.
• COVID-19 testing requirement
- Remote testing: Passengers entering China can conduct self-tests with antigen tests, rapid tests, or PCR tests within 48 hours before departure, provided the results are negative. There is no need to obtain a health code from the Chinese embassy abroad, but the test results must be entered into the online Customs Health Declaration form. All entrants must declare their COVID-19 test results within 48 hours before boarding via the online Customs Health Declaration form.
If the result is positive, the individual must wait until a negative result is received before proceeding with entry.
- Quarantine upon arrival: After arriving at the border, passengers will use their customs declaration code to complete the necessary entry procedures. Chinese customs will randomly collect samples from passengers, and those with unusual health declarations or symptoms such as fever will undergo testing by customs officers. If the test result is positive, the individual will be monitored at home, quarantined at home, or sent to a hospital as specified in the notification. For those with a negative result, customs will apply regular quarantine measures based on the 'Border Health Quarantine Law' and other relevant regulations. Passengers with valid health declarations and no irregularities in the routine customs quarantine will be permitted to proceed with community activities.
* Continue wearing face masks during flights and when entering China.
Note:
- Government-imposed travel restrictions may change frequently and sometimes without prior notice.
- The information above is for reference only and does not guarantee the successful entry or exit of passengers.
- For the latest updates, passengers are advised to contact the local embassy.
