What are Bamboo Airways' regulations for transporting sports equipment and golf sets on flights?
Bamboo Airways has established the following regulations:
- Golf Equipment: One set of golf equipment, including a golf bag, must not exceed the standard weight limit for one piece of checked luggage (≤ 32 kg/501b).
A maximum of one golf set may include 14 golf clubs, 12 golf balls, one pair of golf shoes, and golf tees. Any additional items beyond these will not be considered part of the golf set.
- Skiing/Water Sports Equipment: One set of skiing/water sports gear, including one pair of skis/water skis, one pair of poles, and one pair of ski boots or water sports boots.
- Surfboard: A sports equipment used for surfing, consisting of one surfboard.
- Diving Equipment: One diving suit, one snorkel, one pair of fins, and one mask. Equipment classified as dangerous goods, such as pressure gauges or air tanks, is not accepted.
- Archery Equipment: Includes one bow, one arrow case, and one repair kit.
- Fishing Gear: Consists of one fishing reel, one to two fishing rods, one net, one pair of boots, and a tackle box.
- Bowling Equipment: Comprises one bag containing one to two bowling balls and a pair of shoes.
Baggage Policy:
• Sports Equipment:
Sports equipment with a total weight of up to 32kg and total dimensions of up to 203cm/80in:
+ Register for the service 24 hours before departure:
Counted as part of the free baggage allowance
If exceeding the free baggage allowance, a fee of 660,000 VND per piece will apply
+ Register at the airport check-in counter (only accepted if transportation conditions/airline capacity are met):
Counted as part of the free baggage allowance
If exceeding the free baggage allowance, a fee of 858,000 VND per piece will apply
Note: For flights to/from Con Dao: Sports equipment is only accepted if it falls within the free baggage allowance.
• Golf Equipment:
- First golf bag: standard weight: 23kg/50lb and standard size: 203cm
+ Register for the service 24 hours before departure to receive ONE standard 23kg golf bag FREE of charge in the following cases:
Economy Flex tickets or higher; or
Possession of a First Bamboo Club card
+ Register at the airport check-in counter (only accepted if transportation conditions/airline capacity are met) to receive ONE standard 23kg golf bag FREE of charge in the following cases:
Economy Flex tickets or higher; or
Possession of a First BBC card
Note:
+ Golf bags exceeding 32kg or 203cm: Not accepted
+ Free golf bag allowance does not apply to flights to/from Con Dao
- From the first golf bag (for Economy class) and/or the second golf bag onwards (for Economy Flex and Business class) and/or weight exceeding 23kg/50lb
+ Register for the service 24 hours before departure:
Counted as part of the free baggage allowance
If exceeding the free baggage allowance, a fee of 660,000 VND per piece will apply
+ Register at the airport check-in counter (only accepted if transportation conditions/airline capacity are met):

Note:
- Golf bags exceeding 32kg or 203cm: Not accepted

- Service booking: Passengers requiring sports equipment transportation should contact and book the service at Bamboo Airways ticket offices at least 24 hours before the flight departure time.
- Packaging: Sports equipment must be neatly packed without sharp edges.
