SERVICES FOR UNACCOMPANIED MINORS
DOMESTIC JOURNEY
- Children aged 2 to under 6 years: Mandatory registration for the Unaccompanied Minor service and the Accompanying Attendant service.
- Children aged 6 to under 12 years:
+ Mandatory service: Unaccompanied Minor service
+ Optional service: Accompanying Attendant service
- Children aged 12 to under 18 years: No mandatory service required, with the option to register for the Unaccompanied Minor or Accompanying Attendant service.
INTERNATIONAL JOURNEY
- Children aged 2 to under 6 years: Must register for the Unaccompanied Minor service and the Accompanying Attendant service.
- Children aged 6 to under 12 years:
+ Required service: Unaccompanied Minor service
+ Optional service: Accompanying Attendant service
- Children aged 12 to under 14 years:
+ Required service: Unaccompanied Minor service (for Vietnamese nationals on international flights departing Vietnam or foreign nationals/stateless children on international flights to Vietnam)
+ Optional service: Accompanying Attendant service
- Children aged 14 to under 18 years: No mandatory service required, with the option to register for the Unaccompanied Minor or Accompanying Attendant service.
BEFORE THE FLIGHT
Before the flight, parents should consider the following matters:
SERVICE REGISTRATION
Parents or guardians can book the Unaccompanied Minor service and the Accompanying Attendant service through the following methods:
- At least 24 hours before departure if booking at Vietnam Airlines ticket offices/agents or by contacting Vietnam Airlines Customer Care Center.
- At least 36 hours before departure if registering for the service online via the official Vietnam Airlines website.
SERVICE BOOKING TIMING
- Unaccompanied Minor service:
+ At least 24 hours before departure if booking the service at ticket offices/agents or contacting Vietnam Airlines Customer Care Center.
+ At least 36 hours before departure if using the online service registration form on Vietnam Airlines' website.
SERVICE FEES
- Tickets for Unaccompanied Minors/Teenagers: Priced as regular child/adult fares, based on the applicable age criteria.
- Service fee for Unaccompanied Minors/Teenagers: 2,000,000 VND (excluding VAT) for domestic flights; 100-300 USD for international flights.
- Fee for Accompanying Attendant service (when mandatory): Charged at adult fare rates plus additional fees corresponding to the service class requested.
AT THE DEPARTURE AIRPORT
At the departure airport, parents/guardians should note the following information:
- Arrive at the airport at least 2 hours before departure to complete check-in procedures for the flight.
- Bring the child's identification documents, proof of relationship, and the completed Unaccompanied Minor baggage declaration form.
- Parents must complete all pre-flight procedures for the child and are only permitted to leave the airport after the plane has departed.
AT THE ARRIVAL AIRPORT
At the arrival airport, the person picking up the child should note the following:
- Arrive at the airport at least 30 minutes before the scheduled landing time.
- Present valid identification documents. The information on the documents must match the details provided during service registration.
