Long Chau Lighthouse is a famous lighthouse in Hai Phong. It has maintained its steadfast presence and remains the 'Eternal Eye' that never fades, constantly guiding ships and vessels.
The Long Chau Archipelago is located 15 kilometers southeast of Cat Ba town, Cat Hai district, Hai Phong city. It impresses visitors with its submerged rocks, surrounded by over 30 islands and captivating natural scenery.

About Long Chau Lighthouse

The Long Chau Lighthouse was built in 1894, standing at a height of 109.5 meters above sea level. It serves as a beacon, guiding ships smoothly across the sea. With its unique arch-shaped design, the lighthouse houses a central room with flat reflectors and small bulbs, referred to as the light's core. On clear days, ships up to 50 kilometers away from Long Chau Island can still see its light.

The French referred to this lighthouse as Archipen des Fai Tsi long or Griffes du Dragon (Dragon Claws). Long Chau Lighthouse is also one of the three oldest lighthouses in Vietnam, alongside Hon Dau and Ke Ga lighthouses.

The island's terrain is rugged, filled with jagged limestone rocks. The journey to the top of the lighthouse is challenging, but once you reach the summit, the breathtaking natural scenery that unfolds before you makes it all worthwhile.
