The Kon Tu Rằng terraced fields are located about 10km from the center of Măng Đen town. It is one of the most stunning destinations in Măng Đen, especially during the rice harvest season.
The Unique Kon Tu Rằng Terraces

From late May, when you visit Măng Đen, you’ll be struck by the sight of Kon Tu Rằng’s terraced fields. During this time, the rice is in full bloom, creating a picturesque landscape. To reach the terraces, you can take a motorbike or car heading towards the '37 households area' to the Kon Tu Rằng village. Continue through the village until you reach the end of the road, where you will spot a forest ranger’s house at an intersection. You can park there and walk down a slope to the Kon Tu Rằng terraces.

From the slope, you can see the Kon Tu Rằng suspension bridge crossing the scenic Đăk Bla river. After crossing the bridge, you’ll find rice storage houses belonging to the Xơ Đăng people. For the Xơ Đăng, food is a vital asset. In the past, their houses were made primarily of wood, bamboo, and thatch, which are highly flammable. Therefore, they used separate rice storage houses to safeguard their harvests.

The terraces here aren’t as high as those in the northern mountainous provinces. They nestle at the foot of Ngọc Lễ Mountain and are surrounded by pristine forests. The best time to visit Măng Đen and explore the Kon Tu Rằng terraces is in June and July. This is when the rice begins to ripen, turning golden. The scenery provides the perfect backdrop for stunning photos.

The most beautiful check-in spots in Măng Đen
The rice harvest season in Kon Tu Rằng usually arrives in May, earlier than in the northern mountains. In April, the fields are still lush and green. By May, the rice turns golden under the sun, signaling the approaching harvest. By June, the golden color is fully spread across the fields. Unlike the neat, flat fields of the plains, Măng Đen’s terraces are irregular, with each section varying in shades, creating a stunning color transition.

In addition to the Kon Tu Rằng terraces, when you visit Măng Đen, you can explore other nearby attractions such as the Our Lady of Măng Đen statue, Pa Sỹ waterfall, and Đăk Ke lake… Furthermore, you can savor local specialties, including hot pepper hotpot, dried bamboo shoot chicken salad, and roasted chicken with bamboo rice…
