VAR LIVE Review: 2 Hours of Fun and Unforgettable Experiences

VAR LIVE is located on the second floor of MyTown Shopping Mall - just stepping off the escalator, I could already hear screams of excitement. To save time and avoid long queues, my friends and I booked game tickets on Mytour in advance.

Upon arrival, we simply presented our e-voucher at the counter and were quickly ushered into the gaming area. I highly recommend booking tickets online to skip the lines and enjoy additional discounts with promo codes!
At VAR LIVE, there are large screens and flyers providing an overview of the available games, helping you choose the ones that suit you best. There are plenty of intense games like Zombie, Haunted House, and Ghost Hospital, as well as family-friendly options suitable for kids and those with a faint heart.
If it’s your first time visiting, like it was for me, feel free to ask the staff for recommendations. After careful consideration, we decided to try 5 games, totaling 2 hours of immersive fun.
We’ll review the games we played and suggest which ones are worth trying, so you can decide if this is an experience you’d like to explore!
Must-Try Games at VAR LIVE Malaysia Theme Park
1. Zombie Jail - Face Off Against the Undead

Rating: 🌟🌟🌟🌟
Located near the entrance of the park, Zombie Jail is one of the most popular attractions at VAR LIVE. Grab your gun and prepare to face a zombie apocalypse with 4DVR elements like vibrating platforms, artificial wind, and sound effects. There are three variations of the Zombie Jail series at VAR LIVE, so if you enjoy this game, consider trying Zombie Jail 2 and Zombie Jail: No Mercy next!
2. Super Ninja - Step into the Shoes of a Cool Super Ninja

Rating: 🌟🌟🌟
Super Ninja was the second game we played, and I found it to be a gentler experience to calm our nerves after battling zombies. Choose a sword or a Samurai bow, put on the 3D glasses, and you’ll be transported to a Japanese village.
I thought this would be a calm game, but it turned out to be quite thrilling as we fought enemies attacking from all directions. Perfect for all ages, this game delivers an adrenaline rush even if zombies and haunted houses aren’t your thing. The graphics are top-notch, making us feel like we’d stepped into an animated movie!
3. Horror Hospital - A Spine-Chilling Haunted Hospital

Rating: 🌟🌟🌟🌟
We can’t deny that our hearts skipped a beat when we opened the door to the Horror Hospital room. The space was decorated with wheelchairs bathed in eerie blue light. Unlike action-packed games focused on shooting and slashing, Horror Hospital is an interactive story-driven game where you must collaborate with your team to solve puzzles and escape—it’s like an Escape Room with a horror twist.
If you have a strong heart and enjoy games with scary, suspenseful elements, I highly recommend trying this one.
4. The Others - A Scream-Inducing Escape Room

Rating: 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
If you’re a fan of haunted houses, you can’t miss The Others at VAR LIVE! Known as the “scream factory,” this attraction guarantees loud screams from almost every visitor. Prepare for a next-level haunted house experience filled with jump scares and terrifying elements!
If you’re visiting with kids, check out Mystery House, located next to The Others. This child-friendly version of a haunted house features cute pink and blue ghosts. To defeat them, you’ll need to stare into their eyes without blinking—so keep those eyes wide open!

Traveling with little ones? Don’t miss Mystery House, right next to The Others. This “junior” haunted house will delight kids with its adorable pink and green ghosts. To win, simply stare into their eyes without blinking—make sure to remind the kids!
5. Azuwa - The Enchanted Forest
Rating: 🌟🌟🌟🌟
Unlike games where you stay in one spot, Azuwa requires you to walk around as you explore the mysterious forest in the world of Azuwa. This interactive adventure puzzle game challenges you to collaborate with your partner to solve puzzles, conquer fears of heights, overcome obstacles, and uncover ancient treasures! Tickets for Azuwa cost RM44 (~276,457 VND) and can be purchased in advance on Mytour.
Other Must-Try Games at VAR LIVE Kuala Lumpur

We only had time to try 5 games, but there are many more exciting options we’ll explore next time. Some games you shouldn’t miss at VAR LIVE include Overkill (a multiplayer shooting game), Crazy Rush (a racing game with cutting-edge technology), and Zombieway (a VR horror shooting game on a large field with incredibly realistic interactive mechanics).

In addition to the adrenaline-pumping games, there are family-friendly options that kids will love. Some games have height restrictions, with a minimum requirement of 110cm. If you’re visiting with children, we highly recommend trying Super Ninja, Viking Craft, and City Hero. We tried both Super Ninja and Viking Craft, and they were incredibly fun, even for adults like us! 😍

This was an unforgettable and thrilling experience for me. I think it’s a perfect place to visit with friends or family to share the joy and excitement together.
A quick tip: It’s best to visit in a group of three, as this gives you priority access to the gaming zones. If you’re alone or in a pair, you’ll be randomly paired with others, so no need to worry!
Lastly, make sure to purchase your tickets in advance, as there are various options like combo packages for 3 games, unlimited play passes, or single-game tickets, allowing you to customize your experience.
