Looking to explore during spring but short on time? Choose destinations that aren't too far but still offer a fresh and impressive experience. Recently, travelers have been eager to visit a brand-new spot with picturesque and romantic surroundings. This is the Tam Chuc Pagoda complex in Ha Nam Province. Let’s discover this unique pagoda with Mytour.
Where is Tam Chuc Pagoda located in Ha Nam? What is the best way to get there?
The Tam Chuc tourist complex is located in Ba Sao Town, Kim Bang, Ha Nam. From the center of Hanoi, it's quite easy to reach by traveling along National Highway 1A through Cau Gie and continuing straight to Ha Nam. Once you get to Kim Bang, there will be signs along the way that will guide you smoothly. The roads are wide, scenic, and open, ensuring a quick and pleasant trip. However, be sure to bring all necessary motorcycle documents, check your vehicle thoroughly, and since it's a windy season, dress warmly as the highway can get quite breezy.
For transportation, the distance of around 65-70km from central Hanoi allows you the flexibility of choosing a motorbike for a more personal experience. Alternatively, you can take a bus from Giap Bat station, specifically the Hanoi – Phu Ly route. If you’re traveling with a large group, renting a car or taking a coach are both excellent options.

What can you expect to experience at the Tam Chuc Pagoda tourist complex?
Upon arrival at the main entrance of the tourist area, you will need to park your vehicle at a designated area before heading to complete the mandatory health declaration for COVID-19 prevention.

You will be required to fill out a health declaration before entering the pagoda
The first stop after completing your health declaration is the Thuy Dinh Guesthouse. Here, you will check in and purchase tickets for the cruise or choose to take an electric vehicle to continue your journey to the pagoda complex.
After approximately 10-15 minutes on the electric vehicle or cruise, you will arrive at the Tam Quan Gate. From here, continue on to cross through an area known as the Column Garden, featuring 32 impressive columns that lead to the Quan Am Temple inside. This Column Garden is considered one of the standout features of the Tam Chuc Pagoda complex, inspired by the National Treasure, the pillar of the One-Pillar Pagoda in the ancient capital of Hoa Lu (Ninh Binh).

The impressive Column Garden
Passing through the Column Garden, you will officially enter the three main temples of Tam Chuc Pagoda, arranged from the lowest to the highest: the Quan Am Temple, the Phap Chu Temple, and the Tam The Temple. Each temple is dedicated to a different Buddha, each with its own unique significance and architecture. In front of each temple, there is a large, open courtyard with breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape below, making for an impressive and serene sight.

After visiting the three main temples, you will continue your journey by climbing 299 steps to reach the Ngoc Pagoda, also known as the Heaven Offering Altar of Tam Chuc Pagoda. This is the tallest temple and is regarded as the most strategically located and beautiful, perched atop the That Tinh Mountain. The pagoda is entirely crafted from granite, with an impressive 4-ton statue of the Buddha made of ruby inside.
In addition to the impressive temple complex, the Tam Chuc tourist area also features the Tam Chuc communal house, connected to Tam Chuc Temple by a bridge that spans the Luc Ngan Lake, creating a breathtaking and poetic view.
The overall space of the Tam Chuc tourist complex is exceptionally spacious, open, and modern. Tam Chuc Temple, along with the Hương and Bai Dinh Temples in Ninh Binh, form a highly intriguing spiritual tourism circuit that visitors will find captivating.
