ENTRY CONDITIONS
- Passengers departing from or transiting through the following locations: Beijing, Guangzhou (China); Tokyo, Nagoya, Osaka (Japan); Seoul, Busan (South Korea); Taipei, Kaohsiung (Taiwan - China); Bangkok (Thailand); Singapore; Vientiane (Laos); Phnom Penh (Cambodia); San Francisco, Los Angeles (USA); Melbourne, Sydney (Australia); Frankfurt (Germany); London (UK); Paris (France); Moscow (Russia); Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia); Hong Kong (China);
The list will continue to be updated as per the requirements of the authorities.
- Foreign nationals, Vietnamese citizens residing abroad, and their family members, who possess valid documents as required (permanent residence card, temporary residence card, visa, or valid visa exemption certificate) are permitted to enter Vietnam.
- The above-mentioned passengers do not need to complete the personnel verification procedure, visa/visa exemption document verification, nor do they need to request approval for entry from local authorities or relevant government bodies.
These regulations are effective from January 18, 2022.
TESTING AND VACCINATION REQUIREMENTS
Before entering Vietnam
- A negative Covid-19 RT-PCR/RT-LAMP test result must be obtained within 72 hours of sample collection or analysis, prior to entry into Vietnam. Passengers with connecting flights that extend the travel time should take special note, as they will not be allowed entry if the 72-hour period is exceeded. This testing requirement does not apply to children under 02 years old.
- A vaccination certificate/vaccine passport or proof of recovery from Covid-19 (Certificates from foreign countries should follow the regulations provided on the Consular Department's website).
- For travelers who are not fully vaccinated or do not have a certificate of recovery (including children under 12 years old): They must provide a hotel booking confirmation from a local government-approved quarantine facility (minimum of 7 days), or a certificate confirming that the home quarantine facility meets medical isolation standards, issued by the Chairman of the local People’s Committee (according to document 5599/BYT-MT dated July 14, 2021 from the Ministry of Health).
After entering Vietnam
- Passengers are not required to undergo rapid testing before boarding or after disembarking the flight;
- After entry, all passengers are required to undergo RT-PCR testing as follows:

- Vietnamese citizens, Vietnamese nationals residing abroad, and their family members (spouse/children) who have not been vaccinated or are not fully vaccinated will be provided with vaccination (free of charge) during the quarantine period (if eligible).
QUARANTINE REGULATIONS

HEALTH DECLARATION
All passengers must complete a health declaration at tokhaiyte.vn before departure.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
• Conditions for full vaccination or recovery from Covid-19:
- The last dose must have been administered at least 14 days ago but not more than 12 months before entry, and the passenger must present a vaccination certificate or vaccine passport recognized by Vietnam (or validated by the competent authority if the certificate is not yet recognized for direct use in Vietnam);
- A certificate of a positive RT-PCR test result from a single sample taken no more than 6 months before entry, along with a certificate of recovery from Covid-19 or equivalent documentation issued by an authorized agency in the country/territory where the Covid-19 treatment was conducted.
• Verification and recognition of Vaccination Certificates and Recovery Certificates for Covid-19:
- Foreign vaccination certificates/recovery certificates: to be processed in accordance with the guidelines of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs;
- Vaccination certificates/Recovery certificates in Vietnam: to be processed according to the Ministry of Health's guidelines.
• Passengers entering the country are responsible for paying for their own tests, quarantine costs, medical treatment, and any related expenses (if applicable).
• Some relevant information about passengers arriving on regular international flights is as follows:
- For passengers connecting to international flights within Vietnam: As per the regulations set by the health quarantine authorities in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, passengers are currently allowed to take domestic flights immediately after completing their international flight into Vietnam, without mandatory quarantine in Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh City.
