Vietravel Airlines is often regarded as the 'new kid on the block' compared to other domestic airlines currently operating in Vietnam. Are you familiar with the airline’s ticket pricing conditions? Vietravel Airlines currently offers only the Economy class ticket option
Unlike the established domestic airlines, Vietravel Airlines currently offers only a single Economy class ticket, with specific pricing conditions outlined below:
1. Luggage conditions
- Carry-on baggage: 7kg
- Checked baggage: Not included
- Sports equipment: Not included
2. In-flight services
- In-flight gifts: Not included
- Lounge access: Not included
- Priority check-in at Vietravel Airlines counters: Not included
- Seat selection: Not included
- Meal service: Not included
3. Ticket issuance timeline
- Reservation requests for flights outside of 24 hours from the departure time: Reservation can be held for 0 to 12 hours.
- Reservation requests within 24 hours of the departure time: Reservation can be held for up to 1 hour.
- Special fares: Tickets are issued immediately after booking.
4. Refunds/ Cancellations (Voluntary)
• For non-refundable Economy tickets: Only taxes and fees collected by the airline on behalf of the authorities can be refunded, with a refund fee of 100,000 VND per passenger per flight.
• For refundable Economy tickets:
- Refundable with a fee of 350,000 VND per passenger per flight.
- Tickets eligible for a refund are as follows:
+ Must cancel the reservation at least 4 hours before the scheduled departure time on the ticket, and the ticket must still be valid.
+ Tickets purchased with refundable conditions are refundable from the beginning. If a non-refundable ticket is later upgraded to a refundable one, the conditions of the original non-refundable ticket will still apply.
- Full refund of the ticket price and applicable taxes/fees after deducting the refund fee. (change fees are non-refundable)
- Tickets purchased with refundable conditions will also be refunded for any add-ons, packages, and other revenue-generating services purchased along with the ticket (except for hot meals, which must be refunded at least 48 hours before the flight).
- Refundable tickets are valid for refunds within 13 months from the ticket issuance date.
• For non-refundable tickets or refundable tickets where the reservation was not canceled at least 4 hours prior to the flight time:
- Refund of collected taxes and fees (including airport & security fees).
- Refund requests must be made within 13 months from the date of the initial ticket payment.
- Processing fee applies: 100,000 VND per passenger per flight (VAT excluded).
• If the error is caused by the airline:
- If the flight is delayed for 3 hours or more, or the flight departs 1 hour or more earlier than scheduled: Refund is allowed.
- If the flight is canceled: A flight that does not operate within 24 hours of the scheduled departure time: Refund is allowed.
- Refunds (without refund fees) apply to passengers whose flight segments are affected, or to the entire unused journey within the same PNR. Refund of the ticket price and any taxes/fees collected (including the change fee for the most recent change).
5. Name Change
- The name change fee is 350,000 VND per passenger + Any fare difference (if applicable, calculated at the same or higher fare level).
- The name change applies to all remaining segments of the booking.
- A fee is applied per change, with no limit on the number of changes, provided the ticket is still valid.
6. Itinerary/Flight/Date Change
- If changing the date for the same itinerary: A change fee and any fare difference (the new fare must be equal to or higher) will apply within the allowed change period.
- If you change both the date and itinerary (or just the itinerary): A change fee and fare difference will apply (the new fare must be equal to or greater), within the allowed change period. In case of a lower fare, the difference will not be refunded.
- The flight change fee is 350,000 VND per passenger per segment + any fare difference (if applicable and calculated at an equal or higher price).
- A fee is charged per change, with no limit on the number of changes, provided the ticket remains valid.
7. Failure to check-in within the designated time frame
- Applies after the check-in counter is closed and up until the actual departure time (Passengers must be confirmed by airline staff during this period): Passengers are allowed to reschedule to the next available flight (within 24 hours of the original flight departure time).
- Late check-in fee: 400,000 VND per passenger + any fare difference (if applicable).
Note:
- All changes must be made at least 4 hours before the scheduled departure time.
- The ticket price does not include government taxes, additional fees, or charges from the airline.
- The ticket price and airline charges do not include VAT.
- Ticket validity:
+ For unused tickets: validity is 12 months from the date of the original ticket issuance.
+ For used tickets: validity is 12 months from the date of the first departure shown on the ticket.
- If passengers voluntarily change their ticket, any accompanying products or services linked to the booking will also be updated accordingly. (Except for meal changes which must be requested at least 48 hours in advance).
