A village once known for floods has transformed into a captivating destination
Tân Hóa Tourist Village is a commune in Minh Hóa District, Quảng Bình Province. For a long time, the village has been nestled in a picturesque valley surrounded by limestone mountains. The Rào Nan River flows through the valley, enriching the fields with alluvial soil. Tân Hóa is also famous for the Tú Làn cave system, which has served as the backdrop for renowned films such as “Immortal,” “The Legend of Quán Tiên,” and “Kong: Skull Island.”
The inhabitants of Tân Hóa are the Nguồn people, a community belonging to the Viet-Muong group. The Nguồn are not yet officially recognized as an ethnic minority in Vietnam. Tân Hóa Village has a population of about 3,300, all of whom are Nguồn. They have their own language, unique culture, and rich folk traditions. Their livelihoods include farming, fishing, hunting, and honey harvesting.
Located west of the Hoành Sơn Range, Tân Hóa experiences all four seasons: spring, summer, autumn, and winter. The climate is hot, humid, and rainy year-round, with cold winters. The forests of Tân Hóa are rich in precious timber and medicinal herbs, such as ironwood, mahogany, ebony, and various bamboos. Valuable herbs include cardamom, polygonum multiflorum, and honey. These natural resources further enhance the village's allure.

For a long time, Quảng Bình has been renowned for its adventurous tours, including the Sơn Đoòng Expedition, Hang Én Discovery, and Hang Va Exploration. Notably, the Tú Làn cave system in Tân Hóa Commune offers thrilling adventures ranging from one to four days. Unique experiences at Tân Hóa Tourist Village include swimming in underground rivers, marveling at stunning stalactite formations, and camping in pristine forests.
In October 2023, Tân Hóa Village was honored as the World’s Best Tourist Village by UN Tourism. Tân Hóa offers diverse experiences for visitors.
