The 2024 Huế Festival is an internationally recognized event that highlights the unique culture of Vietnam. It is now celebrated year-round to showcase the rich cultural traditions of the former imperial capital, Huế. This initiative aims to stimulate tourism, preserve cultural heritage, and promote socio-economic development.
The 2024 Huế Festival will feature several themed festivals: the Spring Festival 'Spring in the Imperial City,' the Summer Festival 'The Imperial City Shines,' the Autumn Festival 'Hue in Autumn,' and the Winter Festival 'Winter in Hue.' The essence of Huế will be brought to life through a spectacular combination of Laser, Led Matrix, Hologram, and 3D Mapping effects on the semi-immersive stage at Kiến Trung Palace. This is expected to create unforgettable emotions for the audience during the opening night on June 7th.
Numerous events will be featured during the International Arts Festival Week in Huế.
Another major attraction is the street festival 'Colors of Culture.' The festival will take place in the afternoons of June 8th and 10th, 2024, creating a vibrant, multi-colored artistic atmosphere. It will offer a lively and joyful experience for both visitors and locals. During the 2024 Huế Festival, there will also be performances by various art troupes from 7:30 PM to 11:00 PM from June 8th to June 11th, 2024, at the Quốc học Square and 3/2 Park.
The Light Festival is expected to be held at Thái Bình Lâu and Thiệu Phương Garden (Imperial City of Huế). The Vegetarian Food Festival and the Lantern Festival will take place at Nghinh Lương Đình from June 8th to 9th, 2024. These events offer a unique opportunity to showcase the distinctive and exquisite vegetarian cuisine of Huế. The 'Tam Giang Water Waves' festival will be held from June 8th to 10th, 2024.
The 2024 Huế Festival will also promote activities at the Imperial City Night Market. The organizers will host two cultural performance nights for the audience on the evenings of June 7th and 8th at Stage 2, Chương Đức Gate.
12 main events of the Festival Week
Taking place from June 7th to 12th, the International Arts Festival Week in Huế will feature 12 main events and programs. In addition to the main events, there will be accompanying activities and various community-driven cultural programs.
On the opening night, instead of heading directly to the performance stage, the audience will pass through Ngọ Môn. They will then enjoy a royal art performance as a welcome. From Ngọ Môn, visitors will walk through the main palaces of the imperial complex, then across the Cần Chánh courtyard with a royal banquet, through Thiệu Phương Garden with light art displays, and finally reach the main stage at Kiến Trung Palace.
