The Astronomical Park is located in the Dương Nội urban area, Ha Dong District, and offers a unique and captivating destination for leisure in the heart of Hanoi.
A One-of-a-Kind Astronomical Park

Construction of the Astronomical Park began in 2017. Covering over 12 hectares, it is a key feature of the landscape within the Dương Nội urban area. The park is themed around astronomy, blending research with entertainment. It is the first outdoor park in Southeast Asia to center on astronomy.

The park features several areas, including Bigbang Square, the Black Hole Pool, the Light Fountain, UFO Zone, and more. Within the park, there is also a Hall of Fame Garden that displays statues of renowned scientists like Stephen Hawking and Albert Einstein, as well as mythological figures tied to astronomy, such as Atlas carrying the Earth. Models of the Earth, stars, the Sun, and other celestial bodies attract many children, sparking their curiosity.

The park's boundary walls are designed in a spiral shape, resembling the structure of a galaxy. This creates an enchanting and mysterious atmosphere for the Astronomical Park. The surface of the Milky Way Garden is meticulously decorated, evoking the sense of the infinite vastness of the universe. At the heart of the park lies the 6-hectare Bách Hợp Thủy Lake, surrounded by lush greenery. With its diverse functional areas, the park caters to the varied needs of visitors seeking both exploration and enjoyment.

The Different Areas of the Park
Upon entering the park, visitors are greeted by the Big Bang Square, inspired by the cosmic explosion that birthed the universe, with the Big Bang Tower as its symbol. The tower has a narrow base that gradually widens as it ascends. The area simulating the Solar System showcases models of planets, comets, and asteroids, all accurately scaled and positioned within the Solar System. This offers a lively and interactive way for visitors to learn basic astronomical knowledge.

The planetarium area is equipped with modern telescopes, allowing visitors to clearly observe the moon, stars, galaxies, and more. Especially on full moon nights, visitors have the chance to witness the beauty of a perfectly round moon. The Extraterrestrial Square mimics the orbital paths of the planets in our solar system. At the center of the square is a sculpture system dedicated to extraterrestrial beings. The terrain here is designed with both raised and recessed areas, resembling geological formations.

In the constellation garden, visitors can find models of famous constellations such as the Great Bear and the North Star. The Astronomical Park also features an area for children’s play and an outdoor fitness zone. In addition to exploring the functional areas, you can also engage in various other exciting activities such as watching science films, attending astronomy classes, or participating in astronomy-themed games.
