Located in the heart of the Tien River and spanning over 300 hectares, the En Ecological Tourism Area is a one-of-a-kind spot where you can enjoy the refreshing river breeze, along with a massive collection of driftwood furniture.
The En Ecological Tourism Area by the picturesque Tien River
The En Ecological Tourism Area covers more than 7 hectares, divided into multiple sections, including accommodations, a recreational area, a river beach, and a flower garden. This area was developed over five years. Many structures within the site are made from driftwood collected from the Tien Riverbed. This type of wood, now just the core and as hard as iron, requires craftsmen to work with the natural curves and imperfections to assemble it in a unique way. As a result, every wooden structure has its own rare and distinctive character.

Thousands of driftwood trunks have been carefully selected by the owner to serve as the primary material for everything from landscaping elements to houses and viewing towers. Over 20 years ago, Mr. Nguyễn Văn Nghỉ from Chợ Mới district began collecting driftwood. Initially, he salvaged wood simply to clear the river’s path, but over time, his collection grew, and he used the driftwood to create this riverside tourist destination.

Unique driftwood interiors
A remarkable feature of the driftwood materials at the Cồn Én Ecotourism Area is the sculpted landscape of a rural village. The sculpture spans over 24 meters and weighs 20 tons. It was crafted by an artisan from a high-quality agarwood log, measuring 1.5 to 1.8 meters tall, over a span of seven years. Along the walkways, smaller landscape designs, also made from driftwood, add to the charm. The wood has been intricately carved into animals and birds. Large pieces of driftwood have been repurposed into a 26-meter-high observation tower.

This collection of wood has turned the location into a truly unique destination. It’s also the perfect place to enjoy a river bath and savor the delicious cuisine of the Mekong Delta. Notably, as the sun sets, visitors can take in the breathtaking view of the tranquil Cù Lao Giêng. The area is also home to a historic church built in the late 19th century, one of the oldest religious structures in the Mekong Delta.
