Phu Quoc, often referred to as the 'pearl island' of Vietnam, is located in the Kiên Giang province. The island captivates visitors with its soft sandy beaches, long stretches of coastline, crystal-clear waters, gentle streams that flow year-round, unique traditional crafts, and an abundance of seafood. To ensure a memorable trip, travelers must carefully plan and choose the best routes suited to their preferences.
Southern Island Route
The southern part of Phu Quoc is a lowland area with a dense population. This route will guide visitors to Suoi Tranh, where they can cool off in the refreshing waters, enjoy the lush green surroundings, admire the rocks in various shapes and colors scattered across the area, listen to the cheerful birds singing, and take in the serene, untouched beauty that creates a romantic atmosphere.
After leaving Suoi Tranh, visitors will step foot into the traditional fish sauce production house, where the famous fish sauce is crafted using time-honored methods passed down through generations.
Phu Quoc is also home to a prison that holds a dark chapter in the nation's history, where thousands of prisoners were once held and brutally tortured in a fortified area surrounded by tall fences.
Bai Sao, located about 28 km from Dong Duong town, is known for its winding coastline, captivating waters, and sparkling white sand under the sun. The gentle, calm waves and rows of tall coconut trees add to the charm, along with colorful canoes scattered along the shore. Don’t forget to witness the breathtaking sunsets and sunrises on the beach, or you may regret missing them.
The Southern region of Phu Quoc also attracts visitors with the presence of the Japanese pearl farming area, the island's most beautiful crescent-shaped beach, Bai Khem, and Ong Doi Cape, where the terrain is bordered by the sea on both sides.

The Northernmost Road
Traveling 40km further from the center of Duong Dong Town brings you to Mui Trau Nam. The road may be rough, with many potholes, muddy stretches, and sinking sand, but what awaits at the end is a breathtaking view of nature's grandeur, truly rewarding the effort. This area also boasts a preserved pristine forest, ensuring you are surrounded by lush greenery and vibrant life no matter where you go.
Rach Tram Fishing Village is located in the northern direction, somewhat isolated. Here, the mud from the forest flows through rivers and streams into the sea, making the water less clear compared to other places. However, the sky is always clear, the sun shines brightly, the sand is fine, and the seafood is fresh, delicious, and affordable.

The Forest Road
If you want to experience nature in its most complete form, take a trip through the forest once. On this path, tourists who book a budget tour will spot the Ham Ninh fishing village right along the eastern coastline of the island, with the vast ocean in front and tall mountains behind.
Visitors will have the chance to get a close-up view of the towering Ham Ninh Mountain located behind the village. This area offers a perfect blend of sand, sea, mountains, and fresh seafood. The Ham Ninh crab has become the village's signature dish.
The scenery at Bai Thom is pristine and rustic, situated on the northeastern shore of Phu Quoc. To get there from Ham Ninh, you must travel around Rach Vem fishing village, a 60km journey. This road, much like the one to Mui Trau Nam, is challenging but well worth the effort for those willing to endure. Along the way, visitors will encounter various wild animals. Upon arrival, Bai Thom opens up like a welcoming embrace. The site offers a captivating landscape, shallow waters, and narrow beaches, perfect for capturing stunning photos.
