Being one of the most in-demand routes during Tet and a popular destination for those celebrating spring, it's understandable that prices for the Hanoi – Hue flights rise during the Tet holiday's peak period. However, with Tet just around the corner, Mytour's analysis suggests that while ticket prices have increased, the rise is not overly steep.
In particular, according to the price update from Mytour.vn's ticket search system, the lowest fare for the Hanoi – Hue route in February 2024 is 330,000 VND per one-way trip, totaling 1,062,000 VND for a round trip (including taxes and fees).
During the peak Tết period, from February 5, 2024, to February 17, 2024 (from the 28th day of the last lunar month of the Year of the Cat to the 8th day of the first lunar month of the Year of the Dragon), ticket prices for this route will likely be at their highest, fluctuating between 990,000 VND per trip and 1,770,000 VND per trip. The highest prices are expected during the first few days of the new year, from the 2nd to the 5th day of Tết, due to the increased demand for travel as people head out to celebrate the New Year.
However, by February 18, 2024 (the 9th day of Tết), ticket prices are expected to drop sharply. On this day, the lowest recorded fare was 499,000 VND per trip (equivalent to a total of 1,243,000 VND per trip, including taxes and fees), thanks to an offer from Bamboo Airways.
Starting prices such as 330,000 VND per trip from VietJet Air or 499,000 VND per trip from Bamboo Airways remain quite stable and are not expected to fluctuate much after Tết. Any changes in prices will likely be minor.
Therefore, it can be concluded that although the flight prices from Hanoi to Hue during Tết have increased, the change is not significant. If you're not in a hurry, you might consider traveling after the 5th day of Tết, or ideally around the 9th or 10th day of Tết, when ticket prices are expected to be more affordable.
