The historic Hanok Jeonju Village
Situated in the heart of Jeonju City, Hanok Jeonju Village boasts a picturesque landscape. As autumn arrives, the village transforms into a vivid painting with brilliant colors. In the 9th century, this area was the center of the ancient Later Baekje Kingdom. Later, during the Korean Empire, the Hanok Village gradually took shape. With over 100 years of history, this ancient village was once used by locals as a defensive stronghold.

Although it was abandoned for a long time, in 1977, the village was officially restored by the South Korean government. Subsequently, it was recognized as a National Heritage Site requiring preservation. With its historically rich beauty, the ancient Hanok Village – Jeonju Hanok Maeul was designated as a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage site.
