Vietnam Airlines provides a variety of special services to cater to passengers on their flights
OXYGEN TANK SERVICE (OXYG) FOR PASSENGERS
Passengers using an oxygen tank:
- Fare: Same as for regular passengers.
- Free baggage allowance: Passengers are allowed to carry luggage weighing up to twice the regular free baggage limit for the corresponding flight using this service.
The fees applicable for using the oxygen tank service include:
- Oxygen tank usage fee:
+ Domestic flights: 2,000,000 VND per oxygen tank (excluding VAT)
+ International flights: 200 USD per oxygen tank.
- Oxygen tank transportation fee: Charged at the highest applicable fare for adults, plus an additional surcharge for each seat where the oxygen tank is installed.
Accompanying passenger with OXYG: The same fare and free baggage allowance as regular passengers apply.
STRETCHER SERVICE (STCR)
Passengers using a stretcher:
- Fare: The same as for regular passengers.
- Free baggage allowance: You may carry up to six times the regular free baggage allowance for the applicable flight when using this service.
Stretcher transportation fee: Six times the highest applicable adult fare, plus an additional surcharge.
Accompanying passenger with stretcher: The same fare and free baggage allowance as regular passengers apply.
UNACCOMPANIED MINOR / YOUTH TRAVEL ALONE SERVICE (UM / YPTA)
- UM/YPTA ticket: Same as the fare for a child/adult passenger, based on the applicable age group.
- UM/YPTA service fee: 500,000 VND (excluding VAT) for domestic flights; 50 USD for international flights.
- Accompanying flight attendant fee (when mandatory): Charged at the adult fare, with an additional surcharge based on the service class requested by the passenger.
EXTRA SEAT SERVICE (EXST)
- Passenger ticket: Same as for regular passengers.
- Free baggage allowance: You are allowed to bring luggage weighing up to twice the standard free baggage limit for the corresponding journey when using this service.
- Extra seat charge: Equivalent to 100% of the adult fare, with an additional surcharge for each extra seat, based on the booking class at the time of service request.
WHEELCHAIR SERVICE
The wheelchair services provided by Vietnam Airlines include: In-cabin wheelchair service (WCHC), Wheelchair assistance for boarding and deplaning (WCHS), and Wheelchair service on the apron (WCHR).
- Service fee: Free of charge
- If the customer has wheelchairs, they will be transported free of charge.
- Passenger tickets: Applied as with regular customers.
SERVICES FOR HEARING-IMPAIRED CUSTOMERS (DEAF), VISUALLY IMPAIRED CUSTOMER SERVICES (BLND)
- Service fee: Free of charge
- Passenger tickets: Same as for regular customers
ADULTS TRAVELING WITH 2 OR MORE CHILDREN UNDER 2 YEARS OF AGE (INF) AND ABOVE
- Passenger tickets (adults and children under 2 years old): The same conditions apply as for regular passengers.
- Fee for accompanying crew member: This charge applies to adults and corresponds to the service class the passenger requests.
Note:
- For journeys to/from the United States, Vietnam Airlines does not charge a fee for the use of oxygen tanks.
- Passengers have the option to request an accompanying crew member for the services mentioned above (except for the service of Unaccompanied Minor, which requires a crew member to be booked based on the specified age).
- The service fee applies only to flights operated by Vietnam Airlines. In the case of an itinerary with multiple legs entirely operated by Vietnam Airlines, a special service fee will apply, in addition to the individual segment fees for each leg of the journey.
- On flights operated by other airlines, Vietnam Airlines adheres to the special service regulations of the operating carrier.
- After service confirmation, the special service fee documentation must be issued within the passenger ticketing period or at least 24 hours before the scheduled departure, unless otherwise specified.
- Refunds: Apply when a previously confirmed and paid special service is canceled. Details as follows:
+ Within 24 hours before or after the flight: A 50% special service fee applies, along with any additional charges.
+ More than 24 hours before the flight: A 10% special service fee applies, along with any additional charges.
- Service change fee:
+ Stretcher service: Applies when a previously confirmed and paid stretcher service is modified. Details as follows:
Within 24 hours before or after the flight: A 50% service charge applies, along with additional fees.
More than 24 hours before the flight: A 10% service charge applies, along with additional fees.
+ Other special services: No change fee applies.
