- Passengers wishing to transport pets as checked baggage are required to contact any Vietnam Airlines branch and make a reservation for this service at least 24 hours before the scheduled departure time of the flight.

- Passengers should refer to Vietnam Airlines' regulations regarding the type of pets, their weight, health, and the required transport cages as follows:

+ Types of pets: Dogs, cats, and pet birds.

Important Information: Certain dog breeds are highly sensitive to temperature, humidity, light, pressure, and sound, and can be vulnerable during air travel. For the safety of both the flight and the animals, Vietnam Airlines does not accept the transport of specific dog or cat breeds listed in the restricted transport list. Weight Limit: The maximum combined weight of the pet and its carrier is 32kg. If the total weight exceeds 32kg, the pet will be transported via cargo service.

Health Requirements:

The pet must be in good health and friendly towards humans.

The pet should be free from any illness, fully vaccinated, without unpleasant odors, and not pose any risk to passengers or their belongings.

Pregnant pets are not allowed to be transported.

Transport Carrier:

The carrier must be appropriately sized and spacious enough for the pet to move comfortably, including turning, standing, sitting, or lying down.

The carrier can be made of plastic, metal, hard plastic, welded metal mesh, hardwood, or plywood.

The walls of the carrier must be sturdy. One side of the carrier should have a door that can be opened and securely locked.

The interior design of the carrier should be smooth and free from any bumps or sharp edges that could harm the pet.

The bottom of the carrier should be made of solid, waterproof material. The pet's bedding area must have an appropriate absorbent material. Straw, hay, or dried grass should not be used as absorbent material.

If the carrier has wheels, they must be removed prior to the flight or be foldable.

The carrier must be equipped with proper ventilation and remain well-ventilated.

Each pet must have its own carrier. However, pet birds may share a carrier if they are a pair. The bird cage must be wrapped around with fabric.

Extreme weather conditions during transport may affect the health of pets. Therefore, in cases of excessively hot or cold weather during the flight, passengers may not be allowed to bring their pets on board.

- Passengers are kindly requested to arrive at the airport early to complete the check-in procedures. Vietnam Airlines recommends arriving at least 2 hours before the scheduled departure time.

- When checking in pets as checked baggage, passengers will be guided by Vietnam Airlines staff to sign a "Liability Waiver" form. However, passengers may prepare this form in advance by downloading it from the airline's website, filling it out, and bringing it along during check-in.
