Starting October 28th, the Cần Thơ to Phú Quốc route will resume operations, managed by Vietnam Airlines using an ATR 72 aircraft with a capacity of approximately 72 passengers.
Previously, the Cần Thơ – Phú Quốc route and its return were operated by Bamboo Airways with a frequency of one flight per day. Bamboo Airways was the sole operator of this route until November 2023. In early November 2023, the airline withdrew from several domestic and international routes, leading to the suspension of this flight path.
The Cần Thơ – Phú Quốc route will recommence operations on October 28, 2024, operated by Vietnam Airlines. Specifically, there will be five round-trip flights weekly on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. The Cần Thơ – Phú Quốc leg will depart at 10:40 AM, while the Phú Quốc – Cần Thơ leg will depart at 12:15 PM. Each flight will take slightly over an hour, depending on weather conditions.
Cần Thơ International Airport currently offers domestic flights to Hanoi, Da Nang, Hai Phong, and Con Dao. These routes are operated by Vietnam Airlines, Vietjet Air, and VASCO. With the reintroduction of this route, the airport will now serve five domestic destinations. The reopening of the Cần Thơ – Phú Quốc route is expected to boost tourism and trade between the two regions.
