Starting December 10th, the introduction of direct flights between Vietnam and Mongolia will make travel between the two countries easier than ever before
Direct Flight Route to Mongolia Officially Launched
From December 10, 2024, MIAT Mongolian Airlines, Mongolia's national carrier, will operate direct flights between Ulaanbaatar and Ho Chi Minh City. The route will run twice weekly, fostering greater connectivity and exploration opportunities between the two nations. Ho Chi Minh City, known for its high number of outbound tourists annually, is expected to see increased travel demand, boosting tourism between both countries.
The new flight route will significantly reduce travel time for passengers. Previously, flights took 10-19 hours with layovers, but the direct route will cut this to just over 6 hours. In the past, Vietnamese travelers to Mongolia had to transit through South Korea or Hong Kong, which was less convenient and more expensive. Tour prices to Mongolia typically ranged from 40-60 million VND depending on the itinerary. The direct flights will shorten travel time and potentially lower tour costs.
Attractive Visa Exemption Policy
Additionally, the visa exemption policy starting March 2024 will make it easier for Vietnamese travelers to visit Mongolia. Vietnamese citizens will enjoy a 30-day visa-free stay, eliminating the hassle of visa procedures. This policy, combined with the new direct flights, creates a seamless opportunity to explore Mongolia's vast and breathtaking landscapes.
