What are Bamboo Airways' regulations for transporting sports equipment on flights?
Golf equipment
- One (01) golf set includes one golf bag with a total weight not exceeding the standard limit for a regular checked luggage item (≤ 32 kg).
- The maximum number of items for a single golf set includes 14 golf clubs, 12 golf balls, one pair of golf shoes, and golf tees. Items other than those mentioned above are not considered part of the golf set.
For tickets from Economy Saver class and above:
- Passengers are allowed to check in one golf set free of charge, provided the total weight does not exceed 23 kg (applies to all domestic flights, excluding the Con Dao route).
- For golf sets with a total weight between 23 kg and 32 kg, an additional fee will apply according to the checked luggage rate.
- For each additional golf set (second and beyond) under 32 kg, a fee of 600,000 VND per item (excluding VAT) will apply.
For Economy Saver Max tickets: Golf sets will be subject to the checked luggage fee policy based on the luggage weight rate.
Other sports equipment, excluding golf gear, will be treated as regular checked luggage and subject to the baggage allowance rules based on the passenger's ticket class. Any luggage exceeding the free allowance will incur an additional fee according to the checked luggage weight policy. These sports items include:
- Snow/water sports set: one set of skis/surfboard, one pair of poles, one pair of shoes or ski boots, and one surfboard.
- Surfboard: A sports equipment used for surfing/wave riding, consisting of one surfboard.
- Diving equipment: One diving suit, one snorkel, one pair of fins, one mask. Equipment considered dangerous goods, such as pressure gauges and air tanks, will not be accepted.
- Archery set: Includes one bow, one quiver of arrows, and one repair kit.
- Fishing kit: Includes one reel, one to two fishing rods, one net, one pair of shoes, and one tackle box.
- Bowling set: Includes one carrying bag containing one to two bowling balls and one pair of shoes.
The sports equipment being transported must meet all the requirements set by the airline.
Pre-flight preparation
- Service booking: Passengers who wish to transport sports equipment should contact and book the service at Bamboo Airways' ticket offices at least 24 hours before the flight's departure.
- Packaging: Sports equipment must be packed neatly, with no sharp edges or corners.
- Check-in at the airport: Passengers are kindly advised to arrive early at the airport for the check-in process. Bamboo Airways recommends arriving at least 2 hours before the flight's departure time.
