Guide on using the VNeID app for air travel check-in
The VNeID app is a convenient solution to replace physical documents, accepted by the Vietnam Civil Aviation Authority in Document No. 2188 dated May 2, 2023. However, only electronic identification accounts of level 2 are valid for use.

Steps to use VNeID for air travel check-in:
- Step 1: Log in to VNeID, select the 'Personal' section and enable the application check using the QR code.
- Step 2: On the 'Home' page, generate the QR code for identification. Note: The QR code is valid for only 1 minute.
- Step 3: Airport staff scans the QR code to verify the passenger's identity.
- Step 4: After verification, go to the 'Wallet and Documents' section to present the required data.
Important Notes for Using VNeID:
- Log into the app before it's your turn to proceed with the procedures to avoid delays.
- Bring physical copies of documents in case of system failures.
- Check the expiration dates of the digital documents integrated into the VNeID app.
- If traveling with children under 14 years old, make sure to bring their birth certificate for the procedures.

Starting from January 1, 2025, air travelers should be aware of the need to prepare documents to replace the ID card or use VNeID with a level 2 identification account to ensure a smooth check-in process. Always verify your documents before each flight to prevent unnecessary complications.
