First of all, it is important to note that currently, there aren't many flights operating on the Hanoi to Dong Hoi route. Only about two flights are available each day, operated by Vietnam Airlines and Bamboo Airways. Therefore, booking your Hanoi to Dong Hoi flight during peak seasons will likely result in higher ticket prices.
According to the ticket search system on Mytour.vn, in April 2023, there are several days with the best fare of 499,000 VND one-way, available through Bamboo Airways. This is the Economy Saver class with a 7kg carry-on and 20kg checked baggage allowance. Tickets are subject to a change/name change fee, and refunds are not allowed. The Bamboo Airways flight departs at 16:50 and lands in Dong Hoi at 18:00 the same day. The total ticket price for the round trip, including taxes and fees, is 1,243,000 VND.
On other days, Bamboo Airways also offers higher fares at 699,000 VND one-way for the Economy Smart class, with the same ticket conditions: change/refund/name change incurs a fee.
In addition to Bamboo Airways, the national carrier, Vietnam Airlines, also operates flights between Hanoi and Dong Hoi. However, according to Mytour's updates, Vietnam Airlines' starting prices are significantly higher, with a minimum fare of 699,000 VND one-way. With this fare, passengers are allowed 10kg carry-on and 23kg checked baggage. Refunds/changes incur a fee, and name changes are not allowed.
Notably, starting from April 27, 2023, due to the overlap with the April 30th – May 1st holiday and the Hung Kings Commemoration Day, ticket prices will spike. It is important to plan your booking accordingly to avoid paying excessively high fares.
