These are films where the final moments are truly jaw-dropping. If you feel something was left out, feel free to drop a comment and share a YouTube link if possible. Note: This list contains major spoilers, so proceed with caution!
15. The Asphyx 1973

This obscure film has an incredibly eerie conclusion. A Victorian scientist and his assistant uncover the secret to immortality: a "death spirit," called the "asphyx," that arrives when someone is about to die. Capturing it at the right moment ensures eternal life. The scientist manages to trap his own asphyx but tragically kills his daughter while experimenting on her. His assistant, her fiancé, takes his own life. The scientist, desperate to reunite with them, attempts to release his asphyx again, but he forgets the code to the safe where it's locked away. Doomed to live forever, he is shown as an elderly man (around 120-140 years old) walking down a 1970s street – he cannot die, but he continues to age. To make things worse, he steps into traffic and is hit by a car. Sadly, I couldn't find the final scene, so here's the trailer.
14. The Blair Witch Project1999
This is one of those films you either adore or simply despise – but there's no denying the fact that its ending is among the most terrifying in horror cinema. When I first watched it, I hadn't yet realized it was a hoax, and I must admit, it almost brought me to tears. The witch is never directly shown, but her eerie presence is felt in every moment of this scene, making it all the more unsettling.
13. Batman Begins2005
I absolutely loved Batman Begins – for me, it stands out as the best in the series, and the final scene was just phenomenal! As the movie wraps up, we get a sneak peek at what's next: The Joker! One of Batman's most iconic foes. I don’t know about you, but I'm beyond excited for what's to come!
12. The Silence of the Lambs1991
"I’m having an old friend for dinner" – this might just be one of the most iconic closing lines in cinematic history. This film is pure excellence – there's nothing bad about it.
11. Carrie1976
If you haven't seen this film yet, make sure to rent it for Halloween – it's a true horror classic. In the final scene, one of Carrie White’s classmates is seen placing flowers on her grave. If you’ve watched the film, you’ll understand why this moment is significant – if not, you’ll find out soon enough!
10. The Usual Suspects1995
For two hours, Kevin Spacey's weak Verbal is portrayed as the helpless lamb, being led to the slaughter by Chazz Palminteri’s character. But with the simple drop of a coffee cup and a subtle shift in posture, the true identity of a criminal mastermind is unveiled.
9. Casablanca1942Yes, it’s a huge cliché, but this is arguably the most iconic scene in any film – it’s definitely one of the most quoted. It absolutely deserves a spot on the list.
8. The Godfather1972
"Don’t ask me about my business!" – Michael, the once gentle boy of the family, transforms into Don. When his wife Kay inquires about his "business," he sharply responds. This dark conclusion to one of the greatest films ever made hints at the secrets and horrors that will unfold in the sequel. The final part, where the family’s higher-ups come to show respect to the new Don, is incredibly powerful and sends chills down my spine.
7. Boogie Nights1997"You’re a fucking star," Mark Wahlberg exclaims as he unexpectedly reveals his penis in this iconic final scene (which had been alluded to throughout the film but never shown until now). For obvious reasons, this moment was slightly edited with an overlay so that it wouldn't be banned from YouTube. The final scream was also added for comedic effect, presumably.
6. Rosemary’s Baby1968
This scene makes the list because it's one of the most frustrating moments I've ever witnessed in film history! I couldn't believe it – I literally shouted at the screen: "Throw it out the window!" – but Mia wouldn't listen. Regardless, it's an extraordinary film from an exceptional director.
5. Bonnie and Clyde 1967

This one isn't for the faint of heart. The final two minutes of Bonnie and Clyde are packed with shock and violence, leaving a lasting impact.
4. Planet of the Apes 1968

When I first saw this film as a child, the ending completely blew me away – I ended up renting the rest of the movies, and now the whole set is one of my prized collections! The revelation comes at the end when the main character realizes that he’s been on Earth in the future all along – a brilliant twist and an unforgettable conclusion.
3. Se7en 1995

It doesn’t get much more intense than this. In the final scene, we watch as the killer (Kevin Spacey) orchestrates his own demise. This is a moral dilemma at its finest. What would you do in that situation?
2. Fight Club 1999
Just when you thought the major twist had already left you stunned, a second twist hits – and it's even bigger than the first. This has to be one of the strangest "romantic" moments in cinematic history.
1. Dr Strangelove 1964
"Mein Fuhrer! I can walk!" This marks a brilliant conclusion to a brilliant film by Stanley Kubrick. His musical choices are simply fantastic, perfectly complementing the scene.
